Weezy Sets The Record Straight: ‘I’m An Epileptic’

Posted: 29 Mar 2013 12:05 PM PDT

Alas, Lil Wayne has put rumors to rest about what landed him in the hospital — epilepsy.

Earlier this month, the Grammy-winning rapper suffered multiple seizures that led to a six-day stay at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif. During his treatment, the rumor mill churned out headline-hitting reports, some speculating he was near death in the ICU and other suggesting the health scare was sparked by a Sizzurp binge. But now Weezy is setting the record straight.

“This isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures, ya’ll just never hear about them,” he told L.A. radio station Power 106. “But this time it got real bad.”

“I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 percent,” he explained. “Basically, I could’ve died soon.”

Lil Wayne even dispelled speculation that the seizures were brought on by Sizzurp, a concoction of prescription-strength cough syrup with codeine and a sugary soda. “The reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest and overworking myself,” he continued. “That’s typical me, though.”

On the heels of his hospital release, Lil Wayne had assured fans he’s “more than good,” just days before he dropped I Am Not A Human Being II, his second installment in the album series.

“I just want to say thank you to all ya'll for ya'll prayers and your concerns and all that," said Wayne, who appeared to be in a hotel room in a 90-second clip posted to TMZ. "I swear to God I felt that love when I was laid up in that motherf***in' hospital bed. But I want all ya'll to know that I'm good…more than good."

Are you surprised by Lil Wayne’s medical condition? Share your thoughts in the comments.

She’s Thinking Pink

Posted: 29 Mar 2013 11:58 AM PDT

When you’re Lauren Conrad, even your style mishaps are trendy.

The former The Hills starlet recently travelled to India for the Holi Festival, where participants throw colored powder, paint and water at each other, only to discover that the powder used had accidentally dyed her signature blonde locks to a pastel pink.

“So apparently it doesn’t wash out… Looks like I’m sporting pink locks for the rest of this trip,” she wrote on her Instagram alongside a snap of her newly-colored tresses.

Though Conrad’s new look was a happy accident, there have been many other fashionistas who’ve purposefully sported crayon-colored ‘dos.

This January, 67-year-old Helen Mirren surprised fans when she stepped out at her at the British Academy of Film and Television Awards rocking a bubblegum pink pixie cut.

The silver screen veteran said she modeled her hairstyle after the America's Next Top Model: British Invasion winner, Sophie Sumner.

"I just thought it would be fun," she told The Independent. "She had pink hair and I thought, 'Oh, that looks really pretty.' So I'm copying her."

Would you ever rock pink hair? Sound off below.

Kim Is ‘Turning The Tables’ On Chelsea Handler

Posted: 29 Mar 2013 06:59 AM PDT

As her baby bump continues to grow, Kim Kardashian is fielding more than her fair share of criticism. But she has found it in her heart to forgive one of her naysayers: comedian Chelsea Handler.

“She was another bully,” Kardashian said Thursday on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno of her fellow E! star, who hosts the late-night talker Chelsea Lately. “Just on her show, she would say whatever. I really like her; I like the show. So we kind of made up. We knew we were feuding.”

And now the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 32, is getting a chance to give Handler a taste of her own medicine. “We decided to put the feud behind us and [the Kardashians] are taking over her show, and I honestly can't wait to turn the tables on her,” she said of her hosting the April 8 episode with her sisters, followed by them appearing on After Lately. “We really put that behind us.”

As for the continuous cycle of harsh headlines in the media, Kardashian is doing her best to turn a deaf ear.

"I think it's a little bullyish to call a pregnant woman fat. I mean, what do you expect? I hope I gain weight,” she said. “But I think it's kind of mean, all the comments I see. Whether it's, 'She's wearing heels,' [but] that makes me feel good and sexy. And if I feel good, my baby will feel good. You can't win, you just can't win.”

Some tabloid covers have claimed she’s now tipping the scale at over 200 lbs., which the mom-to-be — who is expecting her first child with beau Kanye West — says it way off the mark.

“I think after that In-N-Out last night and my New York trip, I think it's 25 pounds,” she admitted. “I've always been curvy. I've always embraced my curves, and I love them. And now there's just more to love right now.”

But Kardashian isn’t watching her waistline during her pregnancy. “I have the rest of my life to be skinny and lose weight. I'm not really worrying about it,” she explained. “If I have a craving, I'll go for it. I obviously want to be healthy for the baby and for myself, so I'm not overdoing it.”

Do you think the Kardashians will crack up Chelsea Lately audiences? Sound off in the comments.

What’s Really Bugging Bieber?

Posted: 29 Mar 2013 12:06 PM PDT

Doctor says Justin Bieber needs to seek help.

It's been a tough week — make that a tough year — for Justin Bieber.

His alleged altercation with a Calabasas, Calif. neighbor garnered headlines around the world and fixed the media spotlight firmly on the singer once again.

But what’s really bugging Bieber?

"Justin Bieber needs professional help to discuss his feelings in private so that he can come to terms with being an adolescent and a public figure. He is definitely at a crossroads in his life," psychologist Dr. Yvonne Thomas told Celebuzz.

The Los Angeles-based psychologist, who specializes in individual and life transition counseling, believes that the public should show more empathy toward the superstar 19-year-old.

Bieber still faces the possibility of criminal charges after his neighbor claimed that the pop star spat on him after being confronted about driving his Ferrari at high speeds around the upscale, gated community.

It was the latest bizarre incident involving the performer, who in recent months was kicked out of a Paris hotel, verbally attacked a photographer in London, and was also spotted on multiple occasions wearing a gas mask in the British capital.

"I am not surprised," said Thomas. "It is a very hard combination managing youth and a lot of resources while trying to maintain an image with the rest of the world. It's a recipe for a lot of stress."

The psychologist thinks that Bieber's latest alleged temper tantrum is a result of him not being able to express his feelings about dealing with the pressures of fame at such a young age.

And although the multi-millionaire pop star has been widely criticized by both the press and his fans over the last month, Thomas feels that people should remember that he's still on the cusp of adulthood — and that Biebs needs to seek advice in a private and professional setting to help him make the correct adjustments before he could potentially make more serious mistakes.

"I genuinely believe that he is not a bad person but probably feels overwhelmed at times and allows these feelings to take over him," Thomas said.

Bieber spoke out about the incident Wednesday, admitting that famous or not, he’s still human and makes mistakes.

"The biggest misconception about me is that I'm a bad person," he told Us Weekly. "I get upset about that. I have a big heart. I want to be a good role model, but some people want me to fail."

"I'm young and I make mistakes. That's part of growing up. I mess up sometimes. It's part of growing up. This business can break you down, but I have a strong team around me, and my family and all the fans. The love overcomes the negativity. I'm not perfect, but I'm growing and trying to be better everyday. That's part of life."

Thomas says acknowledging his faults is a good first step.

"It was a great sign that he admitted that he had made mistakes, but now he has to do something about it because there is a long history of young stars before him that could not handle being famous,” said Thomas.

"Somebody like Ron Howard is a good example of a person who did make the transition from child star to a productive and responsible adult and Justin Bieber can learn from that."

Bieber performed in Munich, Germany for the next stop of his Believe World Tour Thursday, but not before the “Boyfriend” singer reportedly visited his former girlfriend Selena Gomez before jetting off to Europe.

You’re Going To Love Kate Spade’s New Line

Posted: 29 Mar 2013 08:06 AM PDT

Kate Spade Saturdays

We’re already obsessed with Kate Spade’s new Saturdays line, a more casual, more affordable collection of colorful clothes, accessories and home items (including great gifts!). The bright colors and fun prints Kate Spade is known for are there, but there’s a decidedly more bold and modern feel to this collection. Along with weekend-friendly styles (think: structured sweatshirts, tailored shorts, colorful denim skinnies), Saturdays has a slightly sexier vibe compared to the ladylike silhouettes that have become a signature of the iconic brand’s whimsical uptown girl. What Is Lindsay Doing Under This Table?

Posted: 29 Mar 2013 12:06 PM PDT

Lindsay Lohan may be headed to rehab — but that apparently hasn’t stopped her from hitting the nightclub circuit.

The troubled 26-year-old starlet — who will begin a 90-day stint in rehab May 2 — was photographed hiding under a table Thursday night at a club in Brazil.

What was she doing down there, exactly? Well, according to TMZ, Lohan simply did not want to take any photos with her fellow-clubgoers, and took to drastic measures to avoid doing so. (Well, whatever works!)

Lohan is in San Paolo, Brazil, to work on a promotional campaign for John John Denim. She appeared at a photo call for the brand on Thursday.

On March 18, Lohan accepted a plea deal for her involvement in a car crash last June. As part of the deal, she must complete 90 days in a locked-down rehab facility, perform 30 days of community labor and undergo 18 months of psychotherapy.

Her probation, for which she was placed on after she was accused of stealing a necklace in 2011, was also extended for an additional two years.

She’s scheduled to appear on an episode of Charlie Sheen’s Anger Management April 11 on FX.

What do you think Lindsay is doing in this photo? Sound off, below.

Huge Party Thrown At Justin Bieber’s House

Posted: 29 Mar 2013 12:06 PM PDT

Lil Twist reportedly threw a huge party at the Calabasas home of Justin Bieber.

TMZ obtained exclusive pictures from the March 19 rager, in which Twist, a close friend of Bieber’s, reportedly invited 40 girls and “a few guys.”

Beer bottles and a hooka pipe are just some of the items in the exclusive set of photos, seen here. The only thing missing: Bieber himself, who was in Europe for the next leg of his “Believe” tour.

Twist was pulled over in February while driving Bieber’s Ferrari. At the time of the incident, a paparazzi was struck and killed by an oncoming vehicle while they were photographing the traffic stop.

Bieber, whose personal life continues to spin into shambles after his split from Selena Gomez, has yet to comment on the party.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Recap: Can April Make Up Her Mind Already?

Posted: 28 Mar 2013 11:18 PM PDT

On this episode of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, the brand new E.R. is tested to its limits when a tanker explodes and sends dozens of patients rushing through the doors of Grey + Sloan Memorial. Amidst all the chaos of accident victims, there is also a mom with a sick little boy who doesn’t seem to get well no matter what they do to treat him.

Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Thursday’s episode, “Can’t Fight This Feeling.”

My favorite part of this episode had to be the story of Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) taking over the case with the mom (guest star Sarah Chalke) and the little boy with the mysterious illness. I didn’t know what to think of that one when she first walked in to the E.R. I kind of figured it wouldn’t be nothing – this is Grey’s Anatomyafter all – but, there were a few directions they could’ve gone with it. I was very glad that they played up Meredith’s mommy instincts and that she was able to figure out what the kid had and get him treated. It made my heart go all mushy inside – not gonna lie.

I feel like the second biggest part of the episode was the story that involved April (Sarah Drew), Alex (Justin Chambers), as well as Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Jo’s new beau, Jason (Charles Michael Davis). It also kind of involved Jackson (Jesse Williams) and Matthew (Justin Bruenning), but I’ll get to that bit in a minute. This one was a little convoluted, but I managed to follow along enough to know that Alex — even though he was being somewhat of a jerk about it — was actually right about Jason. Sure, Alex probably doesn’t like the guy out of jealousy, but when Jason refused to tell the woman’s husband that his wife had just died, he went straight on to my douche list, too. It’s odd to say that I liked that part, because it wasn’t particularly enjoyable, but being the hardcore Alex-girl that I am, I’m happy when he gets proven right, even when it’s for something so small.

Here’s where we get to the part that included Jesse and Matthew. It’s also coincidentally the part that I didn’t like. Jesse treats Matthew’s burns and it’s no big deal. April is upset that her patient died and Jesse comforts her. Also no big deal, right? Well, it’s a very big deal when April apparently starts to get feelings for Jesse again, then tries to talk about how she feels to Matthew and makes the poor guy think she’s trying to say she loves him. Ugh! I know shows like this live for the back and forth, but it is making me nuts. I was totally OK with Jesse and April getting together, but when they decided to go their separate ways, I was okay with that, too. I’ve just started liking Matthew (even though I don’t like that April has been lying to him) and now they go and do this? It makes my head hurt.

That annoying storyline aside, there was a lot more stuff to like in this one, including Owen (Kevin McKidd) making sure the little boy from the accident was OK, Derek (Patrick Dempsey) making Heather (Tina Majorino) his new favorite and Shane (Gaius Charles) jealous, plus everyone in the hospital wanting to get their genomes mapped by Miranda’s (Chandra Wilson) new machine.

Buzz Moments

OMG!: The man running around in front of the E.R. doors on fire. That certainly surprised the heck out of me.

Thank you, TV gods.: Callie finally getting to give her speech and rocking it by just being herself and telling the truth.

Awk-ward: April walking in on Jackson treating Matthew’s ass.

Hotness: Arizona helping Callie with her speech — by stripping.

Fab-u-lous: The scene over the freeway after the tanker truck exploded. It looked really cool, especially knowing that most of it must have been C.G.I.

Can. Not. Wait.: This sounds strange, because it’s not exactly a fun thing, but I’m dying to see the results of Meredith’s genome mapping

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 7. I didn’t hate it, but the annoyance from April and Jesse made me give this one a lower mark than I normally would.

How did you feel about April and Jesse’s little moment alone? Do you think they should get back together?

– Michelle Carlbert

‘American Idol’ Results Recap: Another One Bites The Dust

Posted: 29 Mar 2013 12:06 PM PDT

American Idol Devin Velez

Thursday's episode of American Idol saw the return of two alums. The FOX show celebrated its 450th episode and sent one more hopeful packing.

After an hour of suspense, Devin Velez is sent home. His dismissal is no big surprise — I called that yesterday.  Still, the crowd seemed shocked when he landed back on the chopping block for a third week in a row. Mariah Carey is visibly upset at the results, but the judges don't agree to save him after his sign-off song, "It's Impossible."

Before the big news hit in the last five minutes of the show, fans are treated to some pretty good performances. Aside from the group numbers, Keith Urban takes the stage for the first time this season to perform his hit, "Long Hot Summer."

Last season's seventh place pick, Colton Dixon, returned to the Idol stage to sing "Love Has Come For Me." Also back for the night is Season 5 finalist, and current Smash star, Katherine McPhee who delivers a delicious performance of "If I Lose Myself" with One Republic.

For much of the night, I think Lazaro Arbos is headed home. Jimmy Iovine keeps insisting it's his time, and he did kind of ruin the guys' group number.  Still, I think he's too compelling to go home so soon, America just loves him.

Kree Harrison, Candice Glover, and Janelle Arthur are the first finalists to learn they are safe.  I thought Janelle might land at the bottom, but I'm glad she dodged the bullet.

Angie Miller is sent to the safe zone next and she looks really relieved after her solo performance fell flat for the first time Wednesday night.  Showstopper, Amber Holcomb is next to get good news, she's safe.

Now that it's clear a guy is going home tonight, I start sweating just thinking that Burnell Taylor is in the bottom. His performance of Stevie Wonder's "My Cherie Amour" was one of my favorites of the season, but that horrid group number couldn't have helped his case with America. I breathe a little better once Ryan Seacrest says he's safe. Thank God.

Down to Lazaro and Devin, the stuttering singer seems super nervous. Iovine's words are weighing heavy and he looks like he's preparing for bad news. He's sobbing hard when he hears that he's staying put, and Devin prepares to sing for the judge's save.

His choice of "It's Impossible" is sung in Spanish, a trick the judges have enjoyed in the past; but it's not enough to earn their save. “Unfortunately, for us, it’s not unanimous," says Randy Jackson. "We won’t be using it.”

Nicki Minaj skips the sad goodbyes for a second week in a row, opting instead to leave the studio immediately.  With only two guys left standing, it feels like the competition will only get fiercer from here on out.

Did Devin deserve to go home?

Watch Amber sing “Lately” again below.

‘Carrie Diaries’ Boss Weighs In On Prop 8, Writing Gay Characters

Posted: 28 Mar 2013 08:07 PM PDT

Carrie Diaries Amy B Harris Gay Prop 8 Supreme Court

The Carrie Diaries executive producer Amy B. Harris says that she feels a huge amount of responsibility when it comes to writing gay characters on her television shows. That's especially true right now as The CW show ramps up its coming out storyline for Walt (played by Brendan Dooling).

"I am Twitter-obsessed and the tweets that mean the most to me are the people who are responding to the Walt story," Harris tells reporters at a screening on Wednesday. "I do feel a big responsibility to tell it well and as authentically as I can."

Of course, Harris knows that Walt's storyline is unfolding as California's Prop 8, the anti-marriage equality bill, is being debated in the U.S. Supreme court this week. It's a fight that has managed to join together liberals and conservatives who are beginning to see that this country probably has bigger fish to fry.

"I think that it is fantastic that there is a world now where basically when the Supreme Court makes a certain decision, they will be on the wrong side of the future of what this world will look like," she predicts if the court actually rules to support Prop 8, which bans gay people from legally marrying and enjoying all the benefits of a government-sanctioned union.

"And I think that is a wonderful thing," she continues. "It's like you're going to be on the wrong side of history if you make this choice."

But, while the fight for marriage equality has gained more support across the country, Harris tries to remain realistic about just how widespread that acceptance is.

"There are still plenty of places in America where coming out, whether it's in a religious family or you're in a small town, where it isn't easy," The former Sex and the City writer/producer points out. "So, I hope if [Walt's] storyline resonates for people who are struggling that would be the ultimate for me."

The Carrie Diaries airs Mondays at 8PM on The CW.

How do you think The Carrie Diaries is handling Walt's storyline? And where do you land on marriage equality?
