‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ Gets 3 Distinct ‘Happy Endings,’ Says Show Boss

Posted: 23 Jan 2013 12:49 PM PST

'American Horror Story: Asylum' wraps up

The last we left Lana (Sarah Paulson) on Ryan Murphy‘s American Horror Story: Asylum, she had lost a little bit of her way. Or so it seemed. The strong, fearless, independent journalist who stepped into Briarcliff to expose its conditions and the criminals it was thought to house initially suddenly veered off. Consumed by fame, and probably a bit of anger, she spun the truth and ignored promises.

Lana was always driven, cunning, and focused, though. She had a plan, and though she was forced to deviate it from a bit, her intelligence was always the biggest in the room, and so was her ambition. Lana’s desire to expose Briarcliff will therefore come back in a big way for the series finale episode, “Madness Ends,” which sees Lana returning to the asylum once more — this time with a camera crew.

“That's one of the first things when I and the writers landed on the idea of Asylum — that period of time, those documentaries that were made — there was a very famous documentary that Geraldo Riveramade in that time period, and this is a loose homage of that,” Murphy said of the finale that showcases Lana’s “most controversial” work.

“Also there was a brilliant movie that we were inspired by for this last episode, this brilliant documentary called Cropsey, that was also about the unraveling healthcare system in our country and how so many people were dumped there and left to rot there. All those abuses that you see, we studied pictures of, and we recreated. We did a lot of research. But that was our jumping off point. In the beginning of the series, we knew we were going to have that character going there, becoming a prisoner…and then go back to tear the joint down.”

Murphy acknowledged some of the anger fans felt after seeing Lana give up her quest for justice in a quest for fame, but he noted that was a story point designed to be a “meditation on fame” that would not be indicative of Lana’s end.

“I know a lot of people were very furious with Lana after ["Continuum"] because they felt she left all those people to rot,” Murphy said.

“Even after everything that Sister Jude has done, [Lana] does sort of go back to get her, and she does succeed in closing down the place. I thought it was very heroic.”

American Horror Story: Asylum started as a mixture of a handful of horror elements that “shouldn’t go together,” but Murphy said he always designed the show to focus on three key characters: Paulson’s Lana, Jessica Lange‘s Sister Jude, and Evan Peters‘ Kit Walker. The three of them will each have their respective stories wrap up, but not without further overlapping first.

The finale episode jumps back and forth in time to show how the Briarcliff chapter closed for good, if the aliens ever came back for Kit, and just how big Johnny’s (Dylan McDermott) bite is, compared to his bark. He has certainly hurt a lot of people, but will he be able to actually kill his own mother, if he comes face to face with her at all? All of those answers are coming, though Murphy shared that he wanted to keep one particular arc somewhat open-ended and left to interpretation.

“I was always…fascinated [by] stories of people who had claimed to be abducted and were on the ships. Did that happen? I don't know. But I'm fascinated that those stories came out right around the time of the Civil Rights era and the timing of that. To me, that's what that was about, but I never even like to talk about that story because I like that that's the one story where everyone can come to their own conclusion [of] where do they come from and why,” Murphy said.

“I think Jude got a very great, happy ending, and I think Jessica felt that. And I think Kit got a very strange, happy ending…Sarah Paulson had so many dark days, but she loved it, and she was actually weepy when the show ended because she said 'I've never had a character who's had a beginning, middle, and end like that’.”

But which characters will physically survive? Well, you’ll just have to tune in to find out!

American Horror Story: Asylum airs Wednesdays at 10PM on FX.

How do you hope things wrap up for Lana, Kit, Jude, and the rest? Let us know in the comments below!

Frenchman Dubbed ‘Motoman’: ‘I Was Not Lance Armstrong’s Drug Mule’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Posted: 22 Jan 2013 07:37 PM PST

Alleged

The motorbike rider dubbed “Motoman” — who Lance Armstrong told Oprah Winfrey had supplied him EPO vials during the 1999 Tour de France — has told Celebuzz the allegations against him are not true.

"I was not "Motoman" and did not supply Lance Armstrong with EPO," Frenchman Philippe Maire, previously identified as the shamed cyclists’ courier, said in an exclusive interview.

In last Thursday night’s television confessional, Armstrong conceded the notorious “Motoman” story was indeed true; that a rider on a moped would scoot around France during the 1999 Tour and deliver drugs to Armstrong and his U.S. Postal Service team-mates under the cover of darkness.

It was Armstrong’s former friend Tyler Hamilton who first to blow the whistle on “Motoman,” who he said delivered the banned blood-boosting drug EPO, codenamed “Edgar”, during races to ensure Armstrong and no team member could be caught out with it in their possession.

Despite being thrust back into the international spotlight as a result of Armstrong’s mea culpa — an interview that was watched by 4.3 million people — Maire said he had no ill feeling toward the former Tour de France winner, whom he met when he was in his early twenties.

The pair hasn’t had contact for a number of years, he insisted.

"I still have a lot of respect for him the people that come to my store and work here do as well – we cannot taint his legacy, he is still a human being,” said Maire, who owns a bike shop near Nice on the Côte d'Azur.

"I still see Lance Armstrong the same way. We have a saying in France, 'We can't make a race horse out of a donkey'."

He said he remembers Armstrong, 41, as being "professional, serious, normal and ambitious.”

In the 202 pages of damning evidence against Armstrong compiled by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), it was claimed “Motoman” delivered EPO in syringes directly to the riders.

"His (Motoman) qualities were to be tested because he was also to play the role of drug trafficker," said the USADA report.

"His role was to follow the Tour on his motorcycle and deliver EPO to "Pepe" (Pepe Marti), officially the trainer but also known by the riders as "the courier".

In The Secret Race: Inside the Hidden World of the Tour de France: Doping, Cover-ups and Winning at All Costs, Hamilton detailed how the doping conspiracy was orchestrated:

We were standing in Lance's kitchen when he lined out the plan: he would pay Philippe to follow the Tour on his motorcycle, carrying a thermos full of EPO and a prepaid cell phone.

When we needed Edgar (EPO), Philippe would zip through the Tour's traffic and make a drop-off.

Simple. Quick — in and out. No risk. To be discreet, Philippe would be supplying only the climbers, the ones who needed it most and would provide the biggest bang for the buck: Lance, Kevin Livingston, and me. Los Amigos del Edgar.

From that moment on, Philippe wasn't Philippe the handyman anymore. Lance, Kevin, and I called him Motoman.

"Look, Lance never admitted taking drugs to me,” Maire told Celebuzz.

"I do not know why Lance chose now to say that he was doping himself – maybe the pressure made him breakdown or the large amounts of money spent in law suits led him to talk.

"It is too bad that all the money spent in these lawsuits was not used to fight against doping and to prevent young amateurs and professionals from using it."

Suit Up: A New Justin Timberlake Music Video Is Coming (VIDEO)

Posted: 23 Jan 2013 11:53 AM PST

Brace yourself: Justin Timberlake‘s new music video is just around the corner.

The 31-year-old, who dropped “Suit & Tie” earlier this month, has released a teaser for the track’s lyric video.

In the sneak peek, JT is seen — what else — suiting up in front of a mirror. After adjusting his black Tom Ford tie, the former ‘N Sync singer then swaggers onto a piano in the middle of the room.

The song comes after a six-year singing hiatus for Timberlake, who last topped the charts in 2006 with his smash album, FutureSex/LoveSounds.

Timberlake’s last video appearance was in 2011 for FreeSol and Timbaland‘s ”Fascinated.”

While on his music hiatus, the "SexyBack" crooner tried his hand at acting — starring in The Social NetworkFriends with Benefits and Trouble with the Curve — and won several Emmy Awards for hosting on Saturday Night Live. Last year, he also married his longtime love, actress Jessica Biel, in Italy.

Though Timberlake has spilled on the name of his upcoming album, 20/20 Experience, he has yet to reveal any details regarding the record’s track list.

"The inspiration for this really came out of the blue and to be honest, I didn't expect anything out of it. I just went into the studio and started playing around with some sounds and songs," he penned in an open letter to fans. "That's all I'm giving you for now… I know, I know! Again, with the teasing!!!"

What do you think of JT’s new song? Learn the lyrics for “Suit & Tie” on DirectLyrics, then let us know in the comments!

The full lyric video will debut Thursday at 6 AM on MTV.

The Lying Game: Manti Te’o Admits to ‘Sticking to the Script’ About Fake Girlfriend (VIDEO)

Posted: 23 Jan 2013 12:45 PM PST

In the midst of the nation’s continuing fascination with his bizarre saga, Manti Te’o is finally speaking out.

Making his first on-camera appearance since the scandal broke, the former Notre Dame linebacker revealed his side of the story to Katie Couric during an extensive interview on her talk show, Katie, set to air in its entirety on Thursday.

Viewers were given a sneak peek of Couric’s exclusive chat Wednesday on Good Morning America. In the preview, the football star admitted he briefly lied about his so-called deceased girlfriend Lennay Kekua after learning he had been part of a online dating hoax (aka catfishing).

“You stuck to the script. And you knew that something was amiss, Manti,” Couric asserted.

“Katie, put yourself in my situation. I, my whole world told me that she died on Sept. 12. Everybody knew that. This girl, who I committed myself to, died on Sept. 12,” Te’o answered in his defense.

For those still scratching their heads over Te’o's baffling story, here’s a recap: During the 2012 college football season, the 21-year-old became a mainstream media sensation following the harrowing deaths of his grandmother and girlfriend  (both died just hours apart) on Sept. 11, 2012.

Te’o's devastating ordeal earned the sympathy of his fellow peers and strangers across the country, even grabbing the spotlight during the linebacker’s run for the Heisman Trophy. The problem at hand? While his grandmother actually did pass, Kekua never existed, according to a Deadspin.com report released last Wednesday.

After the expose broke, Notre Dame officials stated that Te’o had been the victim of a “sad and very cruel deception.” That evening, ND’s athletic director, Jim Swarbrick, held a press conference stating his and the university’s support for the star athlete.

To add to the confusion, Te’o continued to speak out about Kekua up until the release of the report, even though he learned of the hoax in early December, raising suspicions about his exact involvement. Since then, the real person behind Kekua’s released photos, Diane O’Meara, has accused her friend Ronaiah Tuliasosopo (also a reported good pal of Te’o's) of conspiring to create the puzzling prank.

As the story continues to unravel and make headlines, Te’o maintains his innocence and explains the reasoning of his actions throughout the controversy.

“Now I get a phone call on Dec. 6, saying that she’s alive and then I’m going [to] be put on national TV two days later. And to ask me about the same question. You know, what would you do?” he asked.

Watch the video to see a preview of Katie Couric’s interview with Manti Te’o.

Tell us: Do you believe Manti was involved in the hoax…or a victim? Sound off in the comments.

James Franco Wants to Direct ‘American Tabloid’

Posted: 23 Jan 2013 01:26 PM PST

James Franco refuses to let one news cycle go by without letting us knowing he's out there. The busy actor/writer/director/soap opera villain is interested in directing and starring in adaptation of James Ellroy's American Tabloid. “It’s not all put together yet,” Franco told MTV on Tuesday. “It’s still early. You’re getting the scoop.” Tabloid follows a five-year span in the lives of three law enforcement officers, from 1958 to 1963, culminating in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. If Franco can do for this story what Ben Affleck did for Argo, we're in. [MTV]

Classic Hollywood: The filmmakers behind Journey 2: The Mysterious Island are turning a popular internet meme into a movie.

Journey 2's Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will produce and potentially star in the film Teddy Bear, which is based on an illustration depicting a sword-wielding teddy bear defending a young girl from a monster. The story is being kept top-secret, but it’s expected to be a franchise-starter. We just hope this leads to an eventual crossover team-up with Ted. [The Hollywood Reporter]

HBO's Bored to Death is the latest TV series to pull a Lazarus act. After months of rumors, HBO Films has officially announced development on a Bored feature film. Series stars Jason Schwartzman and Zach Galifianakis are expected to reprise their roles in the film, which, like the series, will center on Schwartzman's amateur sleuth character. [Deadline]

The Dilemma put Ron Howard in Movie Jail, and now he's looking to author Neil Gaiman to break him out. The Apollo 13 director is in talks to helm a live-action adaptation of Gaiman's novel, The Graveyard Book, for Disney. The story centers on a young boy who, when his parents are killed, is raised by ghosts in a cemetery. As a teenager, the boy finds himself on the run from his parents' killer. Howard is expected to tackle Graveyard once he completes post on Rush, his Formula-One racing drama due September 20. [The Hollywood Reporter]

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo's David Fincher is looking at another bestselling novel to adapt. Fincher is reportedly in talks to helm a big-screen version of Gone Girl, based on the book by Gillian FlynnGirl is a twisted thriller revolving around the disappearance of a woman on her fifth wedding anniversary. The only thing that could make us more excited for this movie is if producer Reese Witherspoon signs on to play the missing wife. [Variety]

Marvel Studios is looking at two unlikely actors for possible roles for the sci-fi heavy Guardians of the Galaxy: Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler. Wait, what? According to a Tuesday post on the website Latino Review, which has quite the track record when it comes to Marvel scoops, the studio is checking the stars' availability to board the James Gunn-directed movie. Guardians centers on a unique band of space-set heroes, including a talking tree. Word 'round the campfire is that Carrey and Sandler are most likely in the running to voice the team's most popular character, the gun-toting Rocket Raccoon. We'll see how this all pans out when Guardians lands in theaters August 1, 2014. [Latino Review]

Which movie do you want to see the most: The Rock’s Teddy Bear project, Fincher’s Gone Girl or the one where Jim Carrey voices an intergalactic raccoon? Watch the trailer for The Rock’s latest, GI Joe: Retaliation, then chime in below.

Take A Minute To Meet The Next Honey Boo Boo — Only Zander Miller Is a Pageant Boy! (PHOTOS)

Posted: 22 Jan 2013 07:35 PM PST

TLC’s Honey Boo Boo better step aside because there’s another fierce competitor out on the children pageant circuit these days.

Meet Zander Miller, the seven-year-old boy who’s been crowned Grand Supreme”in beauty competitions across the nation. In the last six years, he has performed at over 40 pageants, taking home such titles as Most Beautiful Overall, Best Fashion, Overall Grand Supreme, Best Personality, Grand Ambassador, Best Smile and won over $20,000 in prize money.

According Zander’s mother Tracy, 36, the young tot loves being the center of attention — and getting glammed up for the competition.

“A lot of seven-year-olds play video games, or waste their time on other things like that, but Zander is fit and active, he travels, he earns money and loves every minute of it,” she says. “Today, just like an adult celebrity, he's got a manager and a booking agent and has just started getting proper modeling jobs. There's no risk of him spending all his winnings on sweets, he's got a great team of people around him.”

How did Zander get into pageants in the first place?

“‘You should enter Zander into this,’ my friend told me one afternoon, showing me an advert for a local beauty pageant. I thought, ‘why not,’ for after all everyone kept telling me how good-looking my son was,” Tracy recalled.

"[Zander's father] Mike and I were stunned when Zander won 'Grand Supreme', the highest award at the show,” she continued. "Zander's prize included an invitation to perform at a huge pageant in Connecticut, and while it was quite a long journey from our home, we splashed out on the trip there for me, Mike and Zander's Grandma. ‘What have we got to lose?’ I said to my husband.”

Just like Honey Boo Boo — or Alana Thomspon as she’s known, who shot to fame when TLC featured her in an episode of Toddlers & Tiaras, Zander has a wardrobe full of glitzy stage costumes he loves to parade in.

“Grandma and I would make his special outfits, including amazing little tuxedos and cowboy costumes. We'd buy a normal child's tuxedo online, and hand glue black rhinestones onto the lapels and onto the cowboy hat, to impress the judges,” Tracy said of her son’s onstage numbers.
We learned that at National pageants, little boys and girls would have to impress the panel with both 'glitz' and 'natural beauty', so Zander would have to have a smart suit and tie as well as more glamorous outfits.”

“Soon, we had found a tailor who would custom make his outfits. Zander would also have to impress with an interview with judges, as well as a ‘talent,’ and he chose Hip Hop gymnastics, which he already excelled at.”

As for Zander’s favorite activity? Tracy says her son loves to get his nails done.

The proud mama gushed, “‘I love having my nails painted, Mommy,’ he told me. Most of the young boys in beauty pageants have their nails painted — it makes them look polished and tidy, so I soon started painting Zanders nails, along with my own.”

“I told him that in the house I only allow him to have either black painted nails, or clear painted nails,” she continued. “His favourite shade of nail polish is Onyx black, and he wears that often. I think it looks smart.”

Though the pageant parent admits she has no idea where Zander’s talent — and fame — will take him, Tracy says she has no doubt Zander will continue to steal the spotlight.

“I think Zander has a bright future ahead of him, because he's got that 'It factor,” she said.

“Perhaps it'll be Broadway, or maybe Hollywood. Whatever he chooses to be, he'll be a real showman.”

Why Josh Duhamel Is Perfect to Host the Kids’ Choice Awards

Posted: 23 Jan 2013 10:35 AM PST

Josh Duhamel at 2011 Kids' Choice

Josh Duhamel ready to face the slime.

The Transformers star has been tapped to host the 26th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards, which will honor kids’ favorites in film, music, sports and television during its March 23 ceremony.

“We know he’ll do what it takes to be a great host,” Marjorie Cohn, executive producer of the show, said in a press release Wednesday. “We promise that this year will deliver the special, one-of-a-kind, surprise-filled slimefest for which our annual telecast is famous."

And Duhamel is eager to take the reigns for the first time at the awards show. “Kids’ Choice Awards is a great event that…taps into the kid in all of us,” Duhamel said. “I have a lot of secret plans for when I host the awards, but I can tell you I’m excited to lead millions of kids into total crazy fun, chaos …and, of course, endless slime!”

Not only will his “secret plans” surely delight during the telecast, but Duhamel is destined to be a knock-out host.

Here’s five reasons why Duhamel is a perfect pick for the Kids’ Choice Awards gig.

1. He’s a Kids’ Choice veteran.
Now only did Duhamel get a dose of green goo, but he was also crowned champ of the “Arm Fart Hall of Fame” during the 2011 show. “This is probably the highlight of my career,” he told Access Hollywood following his win. “This is something I’ve always wanted to do since I was a kid, ya know.” After being showered in slime, what did he think of the gloppy gunk? “It’s sort of tasteless, to be honest,” he said. “It’s a little bit chilly. It’s very green. It doesn’t sting the eyes.”

2. He lends his voice to Nickelodeon.
Apart from starring in big-screen blockbusters, Duhamel has a flair for cartoons. From 2009 to 2012, the actor lent his voice to Nickelodeon’s Emmy Award-winning animated series Faboy & Chum Chum.

3. He loves little ones.
Tackling parenthood with Katherine Heigl in Life As We Know It, Duhamel cherished working with his on-screen daughter. “That to me was the best part about the movie,” Duhamel said of working with triplets for the film. “What’s more innocent than a 15-month-old kid?…They’re about as pure as you can be.” And in real life, Duhamel can’t wait to start a family with wife of four years, pop star Fergie. “I want to have five boys,” he told Redbook. “Like a little basketball team.”

4. He’s easy on the eyes.
From Glamour to People, many magazines have named Duhamel as one of their sexiest men alive over the years.

5. He has plenty to promote.
Not only is he set to hit theaters in three films — the star-studded comedy Movie 43, romantic drama Safe Haven and thriller Scenic Route — but Duhamel just kicked off production of his upcoming drama You’re Not You, in which he will star alongside his New Year’s Eve costar, Hilary Swank, and Emmy Rossum.

Do you think Duhamel will sink or swim at Kids’ Choice host? Explain why in the comments below.

25 Ways to Go Sheer

Posted: 22 Jan 2013 08:07 PM PST

Celebs wear sheer looks on the red carpet Celebrities wearing sheer dresses Celebrities wearing sheer dresses Celebrities wearing sheer dresses Celebrities wearing sheer dresses

Though this year’s awards season has been bringing us some new red carpet trends, sheer panels, skirts and necklines is one 2012 trend that’s still going strong. We’re seeing sheer styles pop up everywhere — and in varying degrees — with the see-through trend sexing up everything from dresses to tops and even skirts.

Stars with very different styles, including Kristen Stewart, Jessica Biel, Heidi Klum, Rihanna and more, have all been spotted see-through styles on the red carpet — some with greater success than others. Other celebs like Miranda Kerr have taken the trend for a spin during daylight hours, pairing sheer blouses with skirts and pants.

Not for the faint of heart or the shy, the daring trend definitely takes a willingness to show some skin — and some styling finesse to pull off. “Wearing this trend can be tricky, but when done right it could be seen as elegant and very lady-like,” says model and fashion expert Jaimie Hilfiger.

Game to try? Whether you want to go a little sheer … or a lot (or a lot, a lot), here are the secrets to pulling off the sexy red carpet trend in real life.

Where to Wear It: Sheer styles are actually a lot more versatile than you think, according to Hilfiger, who says they can take you from the office (that’s right!) to out.

“When we first saw sheer hit the runways many of us thought that it was meant just for that, but designers really started to add their own variations (i.e sheer cutouts) which made this look ready-to-wear for the office as well,” Hilfiger says.

How to Go Sheer at the Office: “When you don’t want to expose too much try a sheer blouse with a pattern that will leave more to the imagination,” Hilfiger advises.

How to Make the Sheer Trend Work for Your Body: Pick what you want to highlight and cover up the rest. “I feel that many people were so attracted to this trend because it highlighted whatever part of your body that you wanted it to by choosing which piece you wanted to go sheer.”

For more ways to pull off the sheer trend, click through our gallery of stars in sheer styles.

What’s your take on sheer: Trend to try or pass by? Weigh in by taking our poll on the right.

The Celebrity Consensus: Leave Beyonce Alone!

Posted: 23 Jan 2013 11:46 AM PST

Beyonce sings National Anthem

Beyonce‘s “Star Mangled Banner” controversy isn’t over just yet.

The singer faced backlash this Monday following President Barack Obama‘s  presidential inauguration ceremony, in which it was revealed by attendees that the pop star decided to fall back on a "pre-recording" just hours before her scheduled live performance.

Following the bombshell news, fellow celebrity crooners such as Jennifer Lopez, LeAnn Rimes and Aretha Franklin — who performed at the 2009 inauguration ceremony — quickly came to Bey’s defense.

“When I heard the news this evening that she was pre-recorded I really laughed,” Franklin told ABC News. “I thought it was funny because the weather down there was about 46 or 44 degrees and, for most singers, that is just not good singing weather. When I heard that, I just really cracked up. I thought it was really funny, but she did a beautiful job with the pre-record … next time, I’ll probably do the same.”

Franklin, who had a tiff with Beyonce back in 2008, continued that she’s “not surprised” that the 31-year-old went with a pre-recorded track, given the circumstances.

“She wanted her performance to be what she wanted to be, and she realized it wasn’t going to be the way she wanted it to be or she was going to be running a risk,” the soul singer said. “That’s probably why she pre-recorded exactly how she wanted it to be heard.”

Likewise, many other songstresses say they understand the difficulties of performing in cold weather.

“In certain venues and stuff, they do prerecord things, because you’re going to have that terrible slapback,” Lopez said during Tuesday night’s episode of The Daily Show.

“All performers do have to do it at some point,” Lopez added.

Meanwhile, Rimes took to Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to air her grievances.

“I’m actually taking up for her on this one,” Rimes said, arguing that using the pre-recorded track may not have been a decision Beyonce made. “There are times when people will ask you to do it, and they will not let you [appear] unless you do it because they want control over what happens.”

Meanwhile, some celebrities don’t even believe the singer faked her performance: while arriving at LAX Tuesday, Katy Perry, who was in the audience for the performance, told awaiting paparazzi that Beyonce “didn’t lip-sync.”

Lena Dunham Isn’t a Member of the Rihanna Fan Club

Posted: 23 Jan 2013 12:11 PM PST

Let it be known: Lena Dunham isn’t on Team Rihanna.

Dunham portrays a reckless 20-something unsure about love on Girls, but when it comes to the topic of real-life romance and role models, the actress has a strong choice of words regarding Rihanna‘s wild behavior and reconciliation with Chris Brown.

“[Being a role model] is amazing. It’s an amazing thing and it’s, like, it’s a platform that you have to take seriously,” she told Alec Baldwin in an interview on his WNYC podcast Here’s the Thing. “Which is why sometimes it’s like I used to be really into Rihanna, that pop star, and then it’s like again, I don’t want to ever throw stones from my glass house, but I follow her on Instagram and I just think about how many little girls beyond what I could even comprehend are obsessed with Rihanna. Like you know, she left Barbados, she’s had this amazing career, she’s won a Grammy.”

And just like many others, the Golden Globe winner gave her two cents on RiRi and Brown’s eyebrow-raising reunion.

“She’s talented. And then she gets back together with Chris Brown and posts a million pictures of them smoking marijuana together on a bed,” Dunham continued. “And it cracks my heart in half in a way that makes me feel like I’m 95 years old.”

From salacious photos to cuddling courtside at Los Angeles Lakers games, the on-again, off-again couple has raised eyebrows since their infamous domestic violence drama in 2009.

While they’ve shut down speculation of a rekindled romance, RiRi recently ignited the rumor mill once more with the release of the cover of her latest single “Stay,” which features a mystery man who bears an uncanny resemblance to Brown.

Despite outsiders’ opinions, Brown remains dedicated to making things work with Rihanna.

“Me and her have history, and me and her are definitely always going to be best of friends," he said during an interview with Los Angeles' Power 106 radio station. "We're working on our friendship now.

Do you agree with Lena? Or do you think it’s okay for Rihanna to forgive Chris? Sound off in the comments.

Oh, baby!

After sitting front row at the Stephane Rolland show for Paris Fashion Week, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West continued to paint the town red as they headed out to dinner in the City of Lights.

"Dinner tonight with Paz Vega, Stephane Rolland, Carmen Dell'Orefice and Kanye was pretty legendary. #perfectparisnight," the reality TV star wrote on Twitter following her outing.

Kardashian only recently joined her beau for the fashion trip. Just last weekend, the pregnant star flew to the Ivory Coast to appear at two private events.

Kardashian is also in town to work. On Friday, the brunette beauty got up bright and early for a brand new project.

coutney-robertson-names-her-top-3-picks-for-bachelor-season-17

Courtney Robertson could be a fortune teller.

We’re only two episodes into the season, but The Bachelor alum — who famously ended her engagement with fiancé Ben Flajnik in Oct. 2012 — predicted her top 3 finalists for this season, exclusively for Celebuzz.

Drumroll, please.

The season 16 Bachelor winner is predicting it’s down to AshLeeKathryn and Lindsay.

“They just seem to have spark,” Robertson told The Daily Buzz host Hyla when she visited our Hollywood, Calif. studio on Tuesday afternoon.

Only time will tell if her predictions have a ring of truth to them!

So, what is it about these women that leads Robertson to believe they could follow in her footsteps.

“AshLee is a little bit older, she's a little more mature,” the 29-year-old explained. “I just think she's going to go far. I really like her a lot.”

AshLee and Sean went to Magic Mountain for their solo date on Monday night’s show, which was later followed by a live band performance.

Robertson gushed, “It was the perfect Bachelor date.”

Though fans haven’t seen much of Kathryn yet, Robertson believes that the promos hint towards more.

“In the previews you see a girl with long hair and him in the water on a tropical beach, so I think that's her,” Robertson said.

Watch the video above to see which other Bachelor alum voiced her pick for Sean.

The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8PM on ABC.

British Invasion: The Wanted Take on Beatlemania (VIDEO)

Posted: 23 Jan 2013 11:21 AM PST

Take two!

After debuting the official video for their latest single “I Found You,” The Wanted have released a second clip for the hit song in honor of their fans.

The fan-inspired video is quite a departure from the original version, which featured the fivesomeMax George, Nathan Sykes, Tom Parker, Jay McGuinness and Siva Kaneswaran — showing off their tough side as suave gangsters. The video’s explicit nature even warranted a parental advisory warning on YouTube.

But this time around, it’s nothing but good, clean fun as the boys channel — wait for it — The Beatles.

In the clip, The Wanted pay tribute tribute to one of pop culture’s historic moments: Paul, John, George and Ringo making their their first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964.

Nathan, Siva, Max, and Jay bring on the swoons as they rock out in front of hundreds of screaming teenyboppers. Excitement gets the best of the fans as they rush the stage, prompting the boys to make a quick getaway while the girls run after them.

“I Found You” is the first single off their upcoming album, Third Strike.

With the boy band revival in full force, The Wanted are prepping to release their second album this year, along with plans to kick-off their first world tour. (via MTV News)

“We are looking to do a huge world tour,” Parker told MTV News. “Go back to different countries we’ve visited this year. We are going to do South America, do a tour in the U.S., our arena tour in the U.K. and then we’ve got our album coming out as well. In fact, we might do two albums. We are talking about next year, so we are going to have a busy year, if not busier than this year.”

Casey Anthony’s Lawyer Jose Baez: Lifetime Movie Didn’t Convict (Q&A)

Posted: 22 Jan 2013 08:55 PM PST

Casey Anthony

Lifetime’s Prosecuting Casey Anthony drew more than just curious trial watchers to its world premiere last Saturday, but did the real-life star of the tele-movie adaptation of the “trial of the century” also tune in?

According to the lawyer who won acquittal for accused child murderer Casey Anthony, she probably did.

“I can’t imagine not,” Jose Baez told Celebuzz in an exclusive interview. “If someone did a movie about me, I would watch.”

But according to the lawyer, the movie based on the Florida prosecutor who failed to win one of the country’s most notorious capital cases offered no compelling evidence or character study of Anthony, charged with killing her two-year-old daughter, Caylee.

Plus the acting was too “Hollywood.”

Of Rob Lowe‘s portrayal of lawyer Jeff Ashton, Baez said: ”I don’t think he captured Jeff Ashton’s essence or personality. That was probably the most disappointing thing. Jeff Ashton is a much better lawyer than Rob Lowe portrayed.”

Lifetime casts its Jose Baez with Cuban-American actor-comedian Oscar Nunez, who plays the role of Oscar Martinez on NBC’s The Office.

The only thing the pair had in common, according to Baez, was “that we both have a ‘Z’ at the end of our names.”

Speaking to Celebuzz Editor-in-Chief Dylan Howard for his first review of the Prosecuting Casey Anthony, Baez also revealed why he rejected the filmmakers’ offers to work on the film and discussed why he thinks it’s unlikely a film will ever be told through the eyes of the woman dubbed, “Tot Mom.”

Art imitating life. Virginia Welch talks playing an accused murderer. Watch »
Celebuzz: You are the ultimate reviewer, Jose. Next to Casey herself. Did you get a chance to catch it?

Jose Baez: I saw it. I have it Tivo’d and I had a chance to look at it.

CB: What were your thoughts?

JB: I think I’m the worst person to ask, to be honest. Because when you’re in a situation like that, you seem to nitpick at a lot of the stuff that was going on as far as looking at what was actually said and not said and so on and so forth. I’m sure my opinion was much more nitpicky than somebody who was a little bit more removed from the situation.

CB: What were you nitpicking on specifically?

JB: It was interesting that a lot of the things that I said — both in court and out of court — were used. But when I said nitpicking, I meant that words were changed around and so on and so forth. Generally speaking, I think it was an interesting account of the prosecution’s version.

CB: How?

JB: You have to understand that it was so from the prosecution’s perspective. I’m a little biased. Mr. Ashton is probably the right person to ask.

CB: At one point, Ashton referred to you as “smarmy.” You’ve been called worse…

JB: I have.

CB: What’s it like to have to deal with those characterizations, especially when this film came through the lens of the prosecution?

JB: What I am going to do? Get into a name calling exchange? The fact of the matter is that I did my job and I did it to the best of my ability. I think the right verdict was reached. I don’t let those things bother me. In fact, I barely remember that comment in the movie. It really doesn’t bother me. It’s been mixed up with so many of the other things that it’s the least of my concerns.

CB: How do you think the film characterized your former client, Casey? It seemed to me she was portrayed as guilty from the start of the film.

Jose Baez:
"Where the movie fell short is that they really didn't get to explore Casey or anything about her."
JB: I don’t know if you can tell that given she had one line in the movie. Actually if you count the video, I guess a couple. She was such a small part of the movie that I didn’t really think that they had an opportunity to develop her character or to show anything about how she came across. I’m sure what we saw is the way that Jeff Ashton saw her; I don’t have any doubt of that. But I think where the movie fell short is that they really didn’t get to explore Casey or anything about her. What I did find most fascinating about the whole ordeal is that I don’t know how many times you can tell the same story over and over again. The prosecution’s story. We’ve heard it for three years prior to trial and we’ve heard it since after the trial. No one gets to hear the other side of the story.

CB: Being that Casey was found not guilty. Will her story ever be told?

JB: Who knows. Maybe it will. I don’t know.

CB: You wrote a book, Presumed Guilty: Casey Anthony: The Inside Story. Would you allow your book to be made into a tele movie, in the vein of Prosecuting Casey Anthony?

JB: I’m a little busy practicing law right now. I’m a lawyer, not a movie maker. The life I am living is not necessarily one that involves making movies.

After actor Oscar Nunez, playing Jose Baez, reveals a major hole in a piece of key evidence for the prosecution, the prosecuting attorneys must scramble to re-strategize, in this scene from the Lifetime movie Prosecuting Casey Anthony.

CB: If not from you then, do you think that the story of the defense and Casey story will ever be told?

JB: I don’t know, because I don’t know if people want to really hear it. People have been fed the same story over and over and over again. I’m sure a lot of people don’t want to hear and know about it. It’s fascinating, because usually you hear two sides of the story, or the person’s side who actually won the trial, as opposed to the person who didn’t.

CB: Casey’s perspective on the case and trial is not necessarily the one that America wants to hear?

Jose Baez:
"In this movie, they really didn't answer the question what went wrong for the prosecution."
JB: Exactly. I also find it fascinating about the movie that the undertone was ‘what went wrong?’ But the main character, both in the book and the movie, explained that he wouldn’t have changed anything. That he wouldn’t have done anything differently. How do they know what went wrong? They’re not willing to change. I find that fascinating. In my book, I lay out piece by piece where I think the prosecution went wrong and where they blundered — the mistakes they made and mistakes that I made. After all, you never try a perfect case. In this movie, they really didn’t answer the question what went wrong for the prosecution. Then again, I did not participate in the making of the movie in any way. They did call me…

CB: Did they?

JB: Yes, they did. Allison Cross, the writer of the screenplay, actually contacted me but I was busy in Aruba where I was representing Gary Giordano [The Maryland man who was jailed for months in Aruba in the suspected death of his traveling companion] at the time. The last thing I was going to do was stop working on one case. I just really didn’t have the time when they came calling.

CB: What did you think of Rob Lowe’s portrayal of Jeff Ashton?

After hearing Casey Anthony’s defense argument, prosecuting attorney Jeff Ashton (Rob Lowe) is all the more determined to win the case, in this scene from the Lifetime movie Prosecuting Casey Anthony.

JB: Surprisingly, I don’t think he captured Jeff Ashton’s essence or personality. That was probably the most disappointing thing. Jeff Ashton is a much better lawyer than Rob Lowe portrayed. Jeff was much more assertive, much more emotional and I think that the portrayal of Jeff was weak.

CB: That said, I thought the courtroom moment where you were surmising your case when Ashton laughed at you was pretty much spot on?

JB: Again that’s my nitpicking. I thought they blew it. It didn’t happen like that at all. It was much more emotional, much more spontaneous. He was laughing a lot harder than what Rob Lowe was doing and the anger was a lot more intense than what the movie portrayed. Again, see, what I’m saying is that’s me being nitpicking. Whereas you may have thought it captured the moment, I thought it was downplayed.

CB: You know Casey more than most. You know the kind of personality she has. She was viewed in the trial to be someone who was narcissistic and someone who enjoyed the spotlight. Does that give the rise to the suggestion that she would’ve watched the film?

JB: See there is where I think you’re wrong. Casey was never narcissistic about the media coverage, because it was never that official to her. When you’re in a situation like that — a trial for your life and people are attacking you and saying things that you believe are not true — it’s not narcissism; you don’t enjoy that — contrary to what people think. That’s why I’m telling you that story just can’t be told; it hasn’t been told. It’s interesting that you would pose a question like that because that’s legitimately what you think and I can’t argue with that. But somewhere along the lines, something made you feel that way. Was it something you heard or was told, as opposed to something you actually saw. Or were you there with Casey. You know what I mean?

CB: Sure. I do. But in the aftermath of the trial, we saw video diaries released that were recorded by Casey, at a time when America did not want to hear from you. Somebody creating a video to me suggests that person is craving the spotlight or some communication with a wider audience.

JB: If the release of those videos was intentional by that person, yes. But if they were meant to be kept secret for reflective thought or something therapeutic, then I would disagree. The only one who can answer that would be Casey.

CB: Even though you don’t represent her, do you still talk to her?

JB: I talk to all of my previous clients, at least occasionally. But it’s not something that I’m actively involved in. I’m very committed to practicing law right now and I have new clients with new problems that need my direct and undivided attention. I would be doing them a disservice if I was laboring on cases that are already over with.

CB: How was Casey doing the last time you spoke to her?

JB: A lot better than she was in prison. I’d like to say that I’m a strong person but being locked down in a cell for 23 hours a day, for three years, having lost your child, being put on trial for your life, whether you live or die, that’s not a pretty situation by any stretch of the imagination. So being free, however little you can call this kind of freedom, is still a lot better than the previous situation she was in.

CB: No doubt. I thought the Cheney Mason portrayal was very good, if not for anything but aesthetics. [Art Hindle played Cheney Mason].

JB: I will agree. They nailed Cheney. I think they also nailed Cindy Anthony [Casey's mother] and Bobby Williams [the tattoo artist who etched "Bella Vita" ("Beautiful Life") on Casey's

Jose Baez:
"They nailed Cheney. I think they also nailed Cindy Anthony."
back] was very good as well. But everyone else was just… I guess, Hollywood, especially as it relates to Oscar Nunez. The only thing we have in common is that we have a ‘Z’ at the end of our names.

CB: Perhaps it was coincidence, but the premiere of the film came came during the Jodi Arias trial — a case where everyone is trying to draw the inevitable comparison between her and Casey Anthony.

JB: I see more differences than similarities between Jodi and Casey. I see where people draw the similarities but they’re going to do that with every young woman that stands trial. That will be done from now on and until eternity I guess. But as it relates to that case they are very, very different.

CB: Are you watching the Arias trial closely?

JB: I’ve been asked to comment on it and I’ve followed it only as well as I can because, as I said, I’ve been tied up with other matters. I try to follow it a little bit but only because I enjoy watching trials.

CB: If you were defending Jodi, what would you be doing?

JB: I think they’re doing all they can do right now. You’re given the facts. You aren’t going to change the facts. I think that came out in the Lifetime movie. But you have to play with the hand that you’re dealt and I think her lawyers appear to be experienced and seem to know what they’re doing. I think they’re doing the best they can for their client.

CB: Unlike the Casey trial, where there appeared to be a lot of circumstantial evidence, in this particular incident the evidence seems to be mounting against Jodi.

JB: Well you can’t compare the evidence. They’ve got the next best thing to a video. That’s a photo. [Nude photos place Arias at the scene of the crime, but she says she attacked in self-defense.] There’s nothing even remotely close to that in Casey’s case. I don’t think it gets much better than that for a prosecutor.

Hidden Clues: Adele May Have Revealed Her Baby Boy’s Name (PHOTO)

Posted: 23 Jan 2013 10:08 AM PST

Adele's name-place necklace Adele Adele Adele Adele

Ever since giving birth in October, Adele has done her best to keep her baby boy under wraps.

Not only has the Grammy-winning songstress hidden him from the ever-persistent paparazzi in Los Angeles, Calif., but she’s even stayed mum on his moniker.

“I am not sharing his name at the moment. It is very personal to me,” Adele told People backstage at the 2013 Golden Globes, where she debuted her post-baby body and took home the trophy for Best Original Song for her Skyfall theme. "I am enjoying him on my own.”

Adele did divulge, however, her special nickname for her first child with boyfriend Simon Konecki: “I just call him Little Peanut.”

But now, the notoriously private pop star has left tongues wagging with a name-place necklace. While in West Hollywood, Calif., Adele stopped by high-end baby boutique Bel-Bambini wearing a gold necklace that seems to spell out the name “Angelo”, leaving many wondering if that could be the name on her 3-month-old son’s birth certificate.

As the world waits official word on the moniker, Adele has been confirmed to perform her Oscar-nominated James Bond theme at the 85th Academy Awards on Feb. 23, which will mark the first time she sings the tune live anywhere.

During the ceremony, “Skyfall” will also compete against the crème de la crème in the star-studded category for the Best Original Song Oscar: the Scarlett Johansson-sung "Before My Time" from Chasing Ice; the Norah Jones-sung and Seth MacFarlane-written "Everybody Needs a Best Friend" from Ted; "Pi's Lullaby" from Life of Pi; and Hugh Jackman's heart-wrenching "Suddenly" from Les Misérables.

Not only is "Skyfall" a frontrunner for the Best Original Song statuette — and the first nominee in a decade to also have been a top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 — but James Bond will also be honored in a feature segment that pays tribute to the franchise's 50th anniversary.

Weigh in: Do you think Adele would reveal her baby’s name on a necklace without saying a word?

‘Death Race 3′ Star Luke Goss Cuts Celebuzz’ Role From the Threequel, Saying ‘The Story Went Where It Should Go’ (VIDEO)

Posted: 23 Jan 2013 01:41 PM PST

Death Race 3: Inferno wraps up a trilogy of films whose chronology actually ends with the 2008 remake: Frankenstein (Luke Goss) wraps up his racing career in time for someone else – Jason Statham – to inherit the iconic driver's mantle. But it turns out that an important – dare we say, essential – part of the story was cut from the threequel: Celebuzz' role in the film, which was shot during a visit to the Cape Town, South Africa set in late 2011.

Speaking to Celebuzz about the brewing controversy, Goss suggested that the performance was actually too intense for the rest of the film, which follows his character as he races across South Africa in order to win his freedom.

"We have an X rating, an R rating, but we don't have a rating for a man's tongue hanging out and making weird movements," Goss said. "I don't know how you even did that with your tongue!"

Goss attempted to make reassurances that it wasn't the caliber of the performance, merely its suitability in a film set in a hellish prison inhabited by degenerates and criminals.

"It was a good performance – very, very method-driven, I believe, but it's got no place in the movie," he said. "I think you were playing the desperation card a bit too much, I think, for that genre."

Meanwhile, Goss defended the film's focus on Frankenstein, whom one must acknowledge has been the series' protagonist even since Roger Corman made the original film in 1975. Specifically, he argued that this story needed to build to a specific finale with that character, as opposed to exploring a secondary character who never showed up in previous installments.

"I like the fact that the final moment of this movie is appropriate to where the movie goes," he said. "The story went where it should go appropriate to the next step – which would be the Jason Statham movie."

Death Race 3: Inferno is available on Blu-ray starting January 22, 2013. Let us know what you think of Goss' defense of the film in the comments section below.
