Why It’ll Cost You $25M to Buy Jeremy Renner’s House (PHOTOS) Posted: 28 Jan 2013 12:28 PM PST It’s going to take a pretty penny to buy Jeremy Renner’s Holmby, Hills, Calif. home – $25 million to be exact. The two-time Oscar nominee is selling his 10,000-square-foot home is just one of the Hurt Locker’s Los Angeles homes. Renner is known for flipping homes with his business partner Kristoffer Winters. The home, which was originally bought in 2010 for $7 million, is set to make the actor a huge profit if the property sells at its asking price. The home, which is appropriately named The Reserve, comes complete with six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a professional-grade kitchen, home theater and a gym. The proud future owners are bound to boast about their custom-designed backyard which offers an ornate pool with multiple fountains and rare tile mosaics. Art Deco fixtures are featured throughout the mansion and fit into the home’s original old Hollywood theme. The one-story property is located in one of Los Angeles’ most prestigious neighborhoods, Holmby Hills, which Playboy magnate Hugh Hefner also calls home. Renner selling his latest home comes on the heels of the news that he’s about to become a father. Us Weekly reports that the actor, 42, is set to welcome a baby with an ex-girlfriend this spring. No word yet on where he and the new family will reside – but reports state that Renner has over ten homes in the Los Angeles area alone to choose from.Click through the gallery above to check out Renner’s stunning $25 million dollar home. |
Justin Bieber ‘Not in the Happiest Place’ After Split From Selena Gomez Posted: 28 Jan 2013 01:26 PM PST Break-ups are never easy, even when you’re an uber-famous celebrity. So it’s no wonder, then, that Justin Bieber is having a rough time moving on from his relationship with ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez. “I’m not in the happiest place that I’ve ever been,” Bieber, 18, told Billboard magazine in an exclusive cover story. “I’m trying to get through what I’m going through. Like I said, I have my really close friends to cheer me up and keep me going.” Bieber and Gomez first split last November. According to multiple reports, the young couple tried to patch things up numerous times before they officially called it quits over New Year’s. Since the split, Bieber says he’s making sure to avoid reading about it on the Internet. “There’s so many rumors,”he said. “People say I call Selena every day and she won’t pick up the phone or I’m chasing her down, and these are all fake stories.” “I don’t go on blogs or anything like that. I hear things. People tell me if something happens on the Internet. It gets back to me, definitely,” he added. Bieber, 18, also chalks up the entire experience to growing pains. “I’m 18,” he said. “I have a great team around me. I have great friends. We have a blast. They keep me occupied and keep my mind off negative things. It’s funny when people are like ‘You’re 18. What have you really gone through?’ I’m thinking, ‘What do you mean? When you were 18, you don’t think you went through that stuff?’”“When you are 18, you’re going through that transition. You have a high school girlfriend, you might not. Going to college. Figuring yourself out, leaving home.” Bieber recently wrote a new song called Nothing Like Us, which he tells Billboard is about his breakup from Gomez. The song is one of three brand-new songs featured on his new CD, Believe Acoustic, out Tuesday. To read Billboard’s full interview with Bieber, click here. |
Hotter After Heartbreak (PHOTOS) Posted: 28 Jan 2013 01:31 PM PST She may be single, but Selena Gomez isn’t afraid to wear her heart on her sleeve — literally. The Spring Breakers star donned on heart-shaped shades — but not much else — as she headed out to a local recording studio in Santa Monica, Calif., on Sunday. The 20-year-old also went for a pantless look, flaunting her legs in a short baggy sweater and knee-high socks. Is SelGo trying to sex it up to impress another man?
As Celebuzz previously reported, Gomez was spotted canoodling with her former Monte Carlo co-star Luke Bracey at CAA's post-Golden Globes soiree last week, even holding hands with the Australian actor. The star sighting came after Disney actress had a blowout fight that led to a breakup with longtime beau Justin Bieber during their New Year's trip to Mexico.’ However, Gomez isn’t hung up about cutting ties with the pop superstar. "I'm having fun. At the end of the day, love is such a normal thing, and everyone deals with it," she said in the latest issue of Nylon magazine. "Just because it's a different lifestyle doesn't change the meaning of what I've been raised on, which is fairy tales." Earlier this month, Gomez was also seen arm-in-arm with Hunger Games actor Josh Hutcherson following a Golden Globes afterparty at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Is SelGo hotter after heartbreak? Take a look at her post-split style in the gallery, and then let us know in the comments below. |
The SAG Awards’ 11 Most Wearable Beauty Trends Posted: 28 Jan 2013 12:17 PM PST After several seasons of colorful gowns and bold beauty trends, we’re seeing a return to classic elegance on the red carpet this awards season — and that trend continued at the SAG Awards on Sunday. Gone were the electric hues and busy patterns, daring sheer and slitted styles, and over-the-top embellishments and 3-D architectural constructions that pushed the fashion boundaries in 2012. Replacing the bold and edgy was an easy elegance, with stars playing it safe at the SAG Awards in simple silhouettes and classic hues, from black and white to navy and red. Matching the simple, unfussy vibe of the fashion was softer, more natural hair and makeup. Translation: For the first time in awhile, the latest red carpet beauty trends are actually wearable in real life.
From effortless up- and- down-’dos to glam waves and faux bobs, the hair — save for one or two Man Repeller-esque ‘dos (we’re looking at you January Jones) — was natural, slightly messy and completely date night-worthy. The boldest the makeup went was a red or burgundy pout or a charcoal smoky eye, with most stars sticking to natural, pretty makeup. In fact, nails were the boldest stars went with their looks. Anne Hathaway and Kaley Cuoco went festive with their fingertips, sporting whimsical nail art designs, while other stars traded fall’s darker shades in for white and nude nails. Get inspired by all the ultra-wearable red carpet beauty trends from the SAG Awards. Whose hair and makeup do you want to steal? Share your faves below. |
5 Reasons We Can’t Wait for ‘Believe Acoustic’ Posted: 28 Jan 2013 11:31 AM PST Justin Bieber is ready to bare it all — for his Believe Acoustic album, that is. Just seven months after dropping his third studio album, Believe, teen pop phenom will storm the charts again when his brand-new acoustic collection hits shelves on Tuesday. Along with slower-paced, stripping-down versions of nine hit songs from his No. 1 LP, Bieber’s much-anticipated album will also deliver three new tunes: “Yellow Raincoat,” “Nothing Like Us,” and “I Would.” “my acoustic album will let u know how I feel about what is going on in my life instead of rumors guessing,” Bieber wrote on Twitter earlier this month, later adding that it’s “the most honest music i have ever written.”Now less than 24 hours before Bieber officially debuts his new work, Celebuzz reminds Beliebers of five reasons they can’t wait to hit play on Believe Acoustic. 1. Bieber could break Billboard records. On one of his new, mature-sounding, melancholy tracks, “Yellow Raincoat” — listen to the maybe-leaked track below — Bieber bemoans the pitfalls of fame. “The fame, and the money, and the girl will drive you crazy,” he sings over guitar strumming. “I put on my raincoat/ my yellow raincoat/ baby it’s keeping me dry.” 3. Bieber croons about — deep breath — Selena. 4. Brand-new Bieber collaborators. Beliebers can rest easy knowing that Believe Acoustic isn’t the only new Bieber music on the way. “Either next album or for something to release through the Internet,” he told Billboard. “I have so much on my mind, I want to put it in my music. I know I just put out Believe, and this acoustic album, but I want to produce music. |

HBO’s ‘Boardwalk Empire’ Star Wants to Be One of the ‘Girls’ (VIDEO) Posted: 28 Jan 2013 10:51 AM PST If Girls creator Lena Dunham is ever casting guys for her show, she doesn’t need to look further than her own HBO family. Paul Sparks, who plays Mickey Doyle on the network’s Prohibition-era drama Boardwalk Empire, has stepped forward to volunteer for any part on the modern day comedy about 20-something females. The 41-year-old actor made his case to Celebuzz on the red carpet at Sunday's 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards, telling our cameras, “I have so many things I can do for [Dunham].” “I play a character who never gets to have sex,” he continued, adding with a smirk, “I can do that.”However, don’t think Sparks it ditching his ties with Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi) and the rest of the Boardwalk gang just yet — he’s still very passionate about the bootleggin’ drama. “I think it’s a very intelligently written character drama that goes to interesting places,” he told us. “I think the group of actors that are on it are strange and wonderful and different and — weird and very talented.”“And then all that sex and the costumes — I mean, it’s just the whole package.” Boardwalk Empire was nominated for a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance By an Ensemble Cast in a Drama Series, but lost to PBS’ Downton Abby. |

Posted: 27 Jan 2013 06:18 PM PST American Idol is being accused of racism. Just as Season 12 gets underway, nine former contestants have joined forces to sue the singing competition juggernaut for ousting them in what they claim was a racist ratings-boosting plot, according to TMZ. New York attorney James H. Freeman has submitted a letter to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission requesting permission to sue Idol and FOX on behalf of his clients: Corey Clark (Season 2), Jaered Andrews (Season 2), Donnie Williams (Season 3), Terrell and Derrell Brittenum (Season 5), Thomas Daniels (Season 6), Akron Watson (Season 6), Ju’Not Joyner (Season 8) and Chris Golightly (Season 9). Before Jermaine Jones was kicked off season 11 — after producers discovered his multiple outstanding arrest warrants — the show has only publicly disqualified nine other Idol hopefuls in the past, each of whom happen to be black, according to Freeman.“[The show has] never once publicly disqualified a white or non-black American Idol contestant in the history of the eleven season production,” reads his letter. Furthermore, “None of the contestants who were disqualified from the show based on their criminal backgrounds were convicted of the crimes for which they were charged at the time of their disqualification.” Therefore, Freeman’s clients claim the show set out to humiliate them with a scheme — first the contestants are asked if they’ve ever been arrest, a violation of California employment law, then they put through to auditions only to be disqualified them due to their records. Though FOX has yet to comment, Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe is already shooting down the accusations as “ridiculous,” according to TMZ. “We treat everybody the same…no matter the race, religion or sex,” Lythgoe told the website. “I think we’ve always had a fantastic share of talent from contestants both black and white…I don’t think I’ve ever seen racism at the show.”In light the possible lawsuit, it’s worth nothing that Idol has crowned three black winners in its history: season 2′s Ruben Studdard, season 3′s Fantasia Barrino and season 6′s Jordin Sparks. |
‘Homeland’ Star Defends Passionate Plot: ‘You Need a Little Love’ (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO) Posted: 28 Jan 2013 09:03 AM PST Though it’s amassed more the two dozen awards and an avid fan following, Homeland isn’t hitting the spot for everyone. Following an almost unanimously acclaimed freshman season, the Showtime espionage series left some critics disillusioned during its sophomore run. As accolades still rolled in at the Emmys and Golden Globes, many found fault in the narrative’s focus on the ever-embroiled romantic relationship between CIA agent Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) and U.S. Marine turned anti-American terrorist, Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis). But at least one of Homeland‘s stars sees no issue in the pulling at heartstrings during the dramatic storyline. “You always have to have a little love in a spy thriller, don't ya think?” Zuleikha Robinson, who stars as terrorist Abu Nazir’s stateside lifeline Roya Hammad, told Celebuzz on the red carpet at Sunday’s 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards. “I don't know if I care about that.”Shrugging off the show’s detractors, Robinson was ready to celebrate Homeland‘s three nominations at the SAG ceremony, where Danes ending up taking home the trophy for Best Actress in a TV Drama Series. “I'm really excited to be here,” Robinson gushed. “It's a pretty awesome event.” But getting glam for one of Hollywood’s biggest nights was no easy feat for the actress. “It took me a long time because the zipper busted and I had to be sewn into it,” Robinson said of her Gustavo Cadile gown. “So that added on another 40 minutes.” And she had no second-choice garment in the closet to fall back on. “I was like, 'Oh crap, I really should have had another dress on hand,’” she explained. “I didn't have a backup because I love this one so much.”Homeland returns with Season Three on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 9/8c. |
‘The Following’s’ James Purefoy: This Isn’t ‘Wham-Bam-Thank-You-Ma’am TV’ Posted: 27 Jan 2013 08:28 PM PST When James Purefoy looks in the mirror, he doesn't see a monster staring back at him. So why did FOX executives find him perfect to play charismatic serial killer Joe Carroll in their chilling new series, The Following? "Why get cast as Marc Antony, the most venal Roman general in history?" wondered the Royal Shakespeare Company veteran. "What did you see in me for that? Same with this. I think maybe they just trusted the fact that I would do the work." Like every good actor, Purefoy looks for well-rounded characters with backstory, strong motivation and compelling psychological underpinnings. Sure, The Followinghas lots of blood and mayhem, but for Purefoy it is unlike any other show on television.Dreamed up by Scream writer and The Vampire Diaries co-creator, Kevin Williamson, Purefoy's character is an escaped murderer who matches wits with Kevin Bacon's retired FBI agent, Ryan Hardy, who tracked him down 10 years earlier following the murder of 14 female university students. Murder spree aside, don't go calling Carroll a villain. Purefoy insists on moving beyond labels like “good” or “evil” when tackling a character. "You've got to be three dimensional," he insisted. "Looking back on all the key moments from the time he was born to the time he first killed, I'm putting together this vast and multi-faceted jigsaw of a person, and people are complicated." For Purefoy, the show's greatest draw isn't the blood or mayhem, a natural byproduct of a story about a cult of killers, but depth of character.Carroll is a failed novelist who, as a university lit teacher, turned to murder. Following his escape from death row, he dreams of writing a novel focusing on detective Hardy, the man who put him behind bars. "In terms of our show so far, Joe Carroll became a serial killer because he got bad reviews," Purefoy explained. "My God, if I killed a woman every time I had a bad review, there wouldn't be any left." As the season unfolds, Bacon's character discovers a deadly cult aiding the escaped murderer as he pursues a victim he was targeting before his arrest. Williamson puts his audience on edge by focussing on character, and less on gimmicks, to generate chills. "It's a thriller with a touch of horror," said Purefoy, sizing up the show. "It's not wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am TV. It's not overly lit, pumping music, cut, cut, cut, cut, cut. This is television that gets right under your skin and does not let go." The Following airs Mondays at 9PM on FOX. |
The SAG Awards Fashion was Black and White Posted: 28 Jan 2013 08:52 AM PST Black is back. After the sea of bold hues parading down the red carpet for the past year, black and white styles dominated the red carpet at this year’s SAG Awards. Anne Hathaway, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey among the bevy of stars sticking to all-black looks, while Sofia Vergara, Jayma Mays and Kerry Washington opted for crisp white gowns. Refusing to pick sides, January Jones, Claire Danes and Julianne Moore combined the two in elegant black-and-white gowns. Though there was no gray area when it came to the dominant palette of the night, the majority of stars who did break free from the black-and-white pack, including best-dressed stars Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicole Kidman, stuck to regal midnight and purple gowns. Still, a few signs of spring were blooming on the red carpet. Brightening things up, Freida Pinto, Lea Michele and Nina Dobrev popped in hot pink gowns. Though metallics have slipped from their number one spot this awards season, they continue to remain one of the red carpet’s lasting trends, and one look at Jennifer Garner, Julia Stiles and Naomi Watts’ shiny looks last night and its not hard to see why.As for silhouettes, the column gown reigned supreme. Mays and Maria Menonous jazzed up the simple silhouette with elegant trains, while Pinto, Jessica Paré and Giuliana Rancic carved out their waists in straighter styles with bold belts. Strapless continues to be the big neckline trend this season, as shoulders were showcased at nearly every turn. However, we also saw straps emerge as an up-and-coming alternative to the sans-straps styles that have been holding strong for several seasons. Click through our gallery for all the SAG Awards hottest fashion trends. Which trends were your favorite from last night? Did you like the elegant looks last night, or were you disappointed by all the black and white looks? Share your take on the SAG trends below. |
What’s Next for Don Draper’s Secretary? (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO) Posted: 28 Jan 2013 08:12 AM PST Ever since its Season Six premiere date was announced, Mad Men fans have been biting at the bit for another dose of the Emmy Award-winning series. The show’s creator Matthew Weiner has continued to be tight-lipped about his critically acclaimed AMC drama, and even some of its stars are in the dark about what to expect from the penultimate season. “I can tell you that whatever you hear is what I hear,” Teyonah Parris told Celebuzz on the red carpet at Sunday’s 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards.“I have no clue,” continued the actress, , who plays Don Draper’s secretary Dawn Chambers, the first African American employee of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. “I don't even know if Don will be back this season. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.” But Parris — resplendent in a one-shouldered Monique Lhuillier gown adorned with Ben Amun gems — is keeping her fingers crossed for some compelling storylines. “Let's hope for some interesting character development for Dawn,” she said with a smile. “We can hope.”Mad Men will return with season six in a two-hour premiere on April 7. |
‘Carrie Diaries’ Star Austin Butler: Don’t Label Sebastian a ‘Bad Boy’ Posted: 27 Jan 2013 07:26 PM PST The CW’s The Carrie Diaries has set up a world in which young Carrie Bradshaw (AnnaSophia Robb) will be experiencing a lot of firsts. Of course, that means first love is a big part of all of that story, and that's where Sebastian Kydd (Austin Butler) comes in. Though when we meet Sebastian, we learn he has been kicked out of a few schools — which is how he ended up in Carrie’s halls of education — Butler doesn't want his character to get a bad rap among fans. "I have a hard time with the [term] 'bad boy.' They used it in a script one time, and I asked them to take it out because it characterizes him in such a complete pigeonhole. But, he's got the image of a guy who's been kicked out of three schools, and you end up finding out things about him that are maybe bad boy traits, but he's sort of the bad boy with the heart of gold," Butler told Celebuzz.
"You start to see more of his family life, a little bit, which sort of tells us why he is the way he is. I think the mystery comes from putting up walls, and I think if you take a step back, that's from his mom leaving and his dad leaving him with a nanny. He hasn't felt much love, so he's put up a lot of walls and kind of had to fend for himself." Butler admitted that Carrie won't be free of Sebastian's guarded nature. And their relationship will probably inform a lot of her future dating and relationship neuroses. "Because Carrie has gone through traumatic situations and is deeper, he connects with her on that level, but as she gets closer to him, he backs away and puts up a wall again. That dynamic happens over and over," Butler said. "Sebastian is sort of a pivotal part in [Carrie's issues] because a lot of her firsts are with him, and those first scars that we have are there forever. I think that's probably a reason why Carrie ended up with Mr. Big. It's such a messed up relationship, but yet they still want each other!"Still, Butler pointed out that Sebastian doesn't mean to hurt Carrie. And when he notices his walls are pushing her away, he does feel badly about it and tries to change. But, there is a sense of pain and fear that stops him. "You're seeing the humanity in him, and you're seeing his insecurities," Butler said. But not everyone wants to look that deeply into Sebastian, which will cause problems from the young couple as you saw on last week’s episode. "Her dad doesn't approve of me, and he has his own reasons, which we eventually find out. He knows of me in the past, and I don't know that. But when I find out, it causes issues between Carrie and me because of that," Butler said. The Carrie Diaries airs Mondays at 8PM on The CW. Can you root for Sebastian knowing that even if he doesn’t completely break Carrie’s heart, he’s not the one who will end up with her in the end? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below! |
Not-So-Sweet 16: Watch Jennifer Lawrence’s Now-Infamous MTV Promo (VIDEO) Posted: 28 Jan 2013 12:05 PM PST For many actors, the story of how they got their Screen Actors Guild card isn’t filled with glitz and glamor. In fact, most had to get theirs the hard way — like, you know, starring in a commercial for an MTV reality show. Such was the case for Jennifer Lawrence, who revealed this tidbit during her SAG Awards acceptance speech on Sunday. In light of the big reveal, MTV went ahead and released the two-part promo, which has Lawrence playing a bratty teenager whose sweet 16 party goes horribly wrong. Among the terrors: having a disco ball fall flat on her cake and falling over during her grand entrance.
Naturally, since the show was about a bunch of bratty and over-privileged kids, Lawrence’s character wasn’t happy. But hey, at least she got her SAG card. On Sunday, Lawrence won the Best Actress SAG for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook. She is expected to win the same award at the Oscars, airing Sun., Feb 24 on ABC. |
Tatt-le Tales of Your Favorite Stars Posted: 27 Jan 2013 07:14 PM PST Careers in the performing arts aren't the only ways celebrities are expressing themselves — and they’re certainly not shy of using needles in the process. A-listers such as Justin Bieber, Harry Styles and Angelina Jolie have used ink to permanently brand their individuality. Do you know your celebrity news well enough to match the stars with their tattoos? Some of these entertainers have not one, but a growing collection of tattoos. On Monday, Bieber, 18, was snapped getting his 11th tattoo: a set of Roman numerals tatted on his right collarbone. But the Canadian crooner isn't the only musician who’s inked Roman numerals on themselves.
Another shining star got LXXVI – which stands for 76 – on the nape of his/her neck. The tattoo is reported to reflect an important family member. Can you guess who? Or how about the "YOLO" tattoo, standing for "You only live once,” that’s etched on the side of someone's right hand? Play our game and see if you can match the celebrity – Harry Styles, Rihanna, Scarlett Johnasson, Zac Efron, Angelina Jolie, Kelly Osbourne, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, and Snooki – with their body art. |
Yes, Really: Chris Brown Brawls Again…with Frank Ocean Posted: 28 Jan 2013 01:35 PM PST Chris Brown has his fists up yet again. The Grammy-winning singer is being investigated following an alleged brawl with fellow R&B singer Frank Ocean outside of a Los Angeles-area recording studio Sunday night, according to the Associated Press. After responding to a report of six men fighting, authorities found an almost-empty scene at the Westlake Recording Studio in West Hollywood, Calif. Though Brown had left the locale, Ocean stayed to speak with the deputies, according to TMZ. Witnesses said that the brief bout was over a parking space and that Brown threw the first punch. “At this point an arrest is not likely, and he will not be charged for leaving the scene,” Steve Whitmore, the senior media advisor for the Los Angeles County Sheriff, told Celebuzz. “A minor scuffle happened. Battery is unwanted touch and a misdemeanor. We are currently investigating what happened.”While officials have not identified the victim, it seems Ocean was the man on the receiving end of Brown’s alleged assault. “got jumped by chris and a couple guys. lol,” Ocean wrote following the fray, adding he wishes Everett, his Bernese mountain dog, had been by his side. “cut my finger now I can’t play w two hands at the grammys.” At the upcoming awards show, Ocean will vie for six awards for his Channel Orange. This isn’t the first time Brown — who is still on probation for the 2009 assault on his then-girlfriend Rihanna — has exchanged blows with Ocean. On Twitter last summer, Brown compared Ocean to “a young James Fauntleroy or Kevin Cossum,” triggering the “Thinkin’ Bout You” singer to bite back by equating Brown to “a young sisqo or ike turner” and explaining he “don’t like underhanded comments.”The war of words quickly escalated, with Brown spewing expletives as Ocean’s Odd Future collaborator Tyler, The Creator jumping to his friend’s defense. Sound off: Do you think Brown is out of control? Tell us below. |
Will Steve Carell Return to ‘The Office’? (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO) Posted: 28 Jan 2013 06:09 AM PST With The Office set to end in the next couple of months, everyone is dying to know: Will Steve Carell return for the show’s much-anticipated series? Probably not, according to two of its stars. “I wouldn’t hold my breath,” Oscar Nunez told Celebuzz Sunday night at the 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards. “I think we’ll see him, but I don’t think he’s gonna be on the show,” added Nunez’s co-star, Kate Flannery. Carell left the show in 2011, after seven seasons with the top-rated NBC comedy. The show itself ran for an additional two seasons without him, and will officially say its goodbye later this year. How will it all end? Rather morbidly, according to Flannery. “We’re actually planning a group suicide at the end of the show,” she quipped on the red carpet.“I did not get that memo,” added Nunez.
