First Look: ‘Glee’s’ Becca Tobin Immortalized in Hot Tamales for a Good Cause (EXCLUSIVE)

Posted: 04 Feb 2013 01:13 PM PST

Side-by-Side: 'Glee's' Becca Tobin with her Hot Tamale Portrait 'Glee's' Becca Tobin is immortalized in Hot Tamales Jason Mercier works on Becca Tobin Portrait

This season, newcomer Becca Tobin plays the feisty new cheerleader, Kitty, on FOX's Glee. So, it only seems appropriate that she be immortalized in the spicy, sweet candy, Hot Tamales.

Tobin is co-hosting the 12th Annual AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) Oscar Viewing Party in West Hollywood on Sunday, Feb. 24. And to raise money for the organization's efforts, a one-of-a-kind Hot Tamale candy art portrait will be auctioned off.

See Celebuzz's exclusive first look at the portrait above.

"When I saw how incredible this piece turned out, I was speechless," Tobin tells Celebuzz. "I may just have to enter the bidding war for it at the event!”

Jason Mercier (the artist behind the notorious Honey Boo Boo portrait made from 25 pounds of garbage) used more than 5,000 pieces of Hot Tamale candy and worked for more than 40 hours to create the original piece of Tobin.

"I love Becca! She’s such a hot badass! I knew instantly when approached for this portrait that it needed to be made out of Hot Tamales! I’m honored to be able to help her raise money for such an important cause," Mercier says.

At the APLA event, Tobin will autograph the piece before helping to auction it off for the cause. For more information on the event, visit the APLA website.

Glee airs Thursdays at 9PM on FOX.

How much do you think the portrait will sell for?

We may be shivering in our winter boots, but it's never too early to start thinking about spring. While you may have to wait until the weather gets warmer to wear many of the fashion trends from the Spring 2013 runways, you won’t have to wait to wear some of spring’s top beauty trends.

From braids and makeup to nails, we’re rounding up all the next big waves in beauty that you don’t have to wait another day to try.

The Spring 2013 runways were all about braids, brows and being bold. Big eyebrows made their way back into the scene so put away your pluckers and start embracing your brows. And, under those bushy brows were electric eye shadows. Vibrant blues, hot pinks and bright marigold hues often winged out and forming funky geometric shapes for majorly punchy peepers.

As for hair, a sweeping side part was seen strutting down many runways. This simple style is an instant update for spring. Feeling more adventurous?

Dreadlocked strands made a debut if you're willing to go sans shampoo for the ultimate in hippie-chic. Somewhere in the middle? Braids are still big, so you're safe this season.

With such dramatic makeup, the trend for nails is soft and neat. Light hues make for pretty hands, and pink, nudes and even white keep manis soft for spring.

Shakira is spreading the love all around.

Unlike celebrities who cash in on their baby’s first photos by selling them to magazines, the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer debuted the first snapshot of her son Milan with his proud papa, soccer player Gerard Piqué, in hopes of raising money for children in need.

The photo, which features the FC Barcelona center-back planting a kiss on the newborn, is available on the couple’s UNICEF website, where the charity is accepting donations of $5 to $110 in celebration of the famous tot’s birthday on Jan. 22.

"We hope that, in his name, other less privileged children in the world can have their basic needs covered through gifts and donations," Shakira, 35, and Piqué, 26, wrote on the website. "Thank you for sharing this unforgettable moment with us."

According to Shakira, Milan "means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification."

Quite fitting for her charity, right?

Take a look at Milan’s first baby photo — and other famous celebrity kids — in the gallery above.

It’s Back to School for Kelly Bensimon (VIDEO)

Posted: 04 Feb 2013 01:12 PM PST

Kelly Killoren Bensimon wants to get an advanced degree — but not the old-fashioned way.

“I decided to feed my mind with education, and instead of going to a bigger school, I wanted to show the rest of the world that everyone can get educated online,” the 44-year-old Columbia grad told Celebuzz at Saturday’s 2013 Kettleball Kickboxing Fitness Gala in New York City. “So I chose Northeastern University [in Boston.]”

Kylie Jenner Slams Tabloid Reports Claiming Bruce Jenner Is Not Her Father (PHOTOS)

Posted: 04 Feb 2013 01:08 PM PST

The tabloid speculation has gone too far for Kylie Jenner.

The 15-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians star took to her Twitter to blast reports that Bruce Jenner is not her biological father.

“It sickens me how editors of a magazine can proudly write a story denying that a 15 year olds father is actually hers,” she wrote.

“Yes, my father is my father and no my parents aren’t getting a divorce. You guys can’t believe any of these magazines.. It’s all bulls–t.”

Jenner’s Twitter rant didn’t end there.

The youngest of the Jenner girls went on for 15 tweets to express her disgust for the false reports.

Her older sisters chimed in with their support as well: Kim Kardashian tweeted, “I couldn’t agree more! #soproud” in response to Jenner’s messages.

Kourtney Kardashian also rushed to her sister’s defense writing, “That was some rant @KylieJenner but I just want to say that I’m proud and honored to have you as my sister. What a well spoken young lady!”

It’s been an ongoing battle between the tabloids and the Kardashian girls during the last few months. Earlier in January, Kim slammed In Touch and Life & Style magazines for claiming that Robert Kardashian Sr. wasn’t sister Khloe’s real father. Kim called the claims “a complete waste of time” and “all lies” in a post on her blogthat she titled “Enough is enough.”

Do you think the latest tabloid reports have gone too far? Weigh in below.

No matter how many episodes of Jersey Shore or Snooki & JWoww viewers have seen, there are still many things about Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi that haven't been revealed.

Until now.

The 24-year-old reality TV star recently shared her top 10 things fans don't know about her — and some of the facts are quite telling.

"When people meet me they're like, 'Why aren't you falling or screaming or showing your underwear?'"

Another thing fans might be surprised to learn is that Snooki is a hard core sci-fi fan.

"Did you ever watch Rosewell? Oh my god it's my favorite show ever. I watch the DVDs all the time."

‘Carrie Diaries’ Star Katie Findlay Talks Maggie’s ‘Secret, Sexy World’

Posted: 04 Feb 2013 12:21 PM PST

Katie Findlay had never watched an episode of HBO’s Sex and the City until a couple of months before she auditioned for the role of Maggie Landers, Carrie Bradshaw's (AnnaSophia Robb) best friend on The CW’s The Carrie Diaries. And even though the 22-year-old actress had never seen the show, she quickly realized what made the series so special.

"I sort of got a sense of what it did for portraying women and especially women in a group, because I think it's really popular in the media to have women be frenemies as opposed to actually supportive," she explained to Celebuzz. "Watching the show, me and my  mom were chatting about it, [it] seems like that's something that should be a given but it was actually a huge deal that here is a group of women who were supporting each other and didn't secretly hate each other over shoes."

The Canadian native, who some fans will remember as Rosie Larsen on AMC’s The Killing, says the main difference between Americans and Canadians is that Canadians are, "raised to be apologetic." She says she loves working on The Carrie Diariesfor a couple of reasons, one being the spectacular 80s fashion of big hair and even bigger shoulder pads.

"I think the fashion is awesome!," she squeals. "I am the worst fashion person in the world. Being dressed up like a Barbie doll is kind of fantastic. I don't get to wear a lot of spandex in my everyday life, shockingly enough, so it's really fun."

Secondly, the cast get along really well. She told us that the crew are constantly teasing the cast on "how much it looks like we really like each other. I think we all just genuinely like each other and it shows through."

Katie's character Maggie has been dating Walt (Brendan Dooling) for a couple of years, but unbeknownst to Carrie she's also been carrying on an affair with an older man. Findlay appreciates that the topic of cheating is not dealt with in a judgmental manner but is a little more understanding and sounding much wiser than 22, she also has words of compassion about the touchy subject.

"It does happen and I do think especially when you're a kid you don't understand the consequences of things. It takes years and years of dating and being with people and messing up to really understand what it means to have a responsibility towards someone. Having a romantic responsibility towards someone is a huge deal and it takes ages to appreciate that," she says.

"I think not realizing the potential ramifications of cheating on someone and thinking you can have someone and it's a secret and sexy and fun, it's a huge lesson. I don't think we should be condemning young women for living that lesson. It's interesting and it's a part of growing. Of course, I'm not saying, go run out and do it!"

So what is next for Maggie?

"Big change," Findlay promises. "I think Maggie has been rolling along with the belief that she can create a sort of secret, sexy world for herself that nobody has to know and everything will be fine and it all kind of comes down the pipe this season.

"I adore Maggie! I have a lot of personal love for her because I knew girls like her in high school. I was never brave enough to be one. I think that in 10 years she's going to be dynamite. She's the kind of person where if she gets it together she could be amazing. She's a really powerful, sexy, confident person but I think right now she has the potential to be a hot mess if she doesn't start moving in the right direction. I would love to see her find a little self-worth and sort of stop running in dramatic little circles which she does often because she's a good chick."

The Carrie Diaries airs Mondays at 8PM on The CW

In light of what Maggie’s up to, do you think she’s a “good chick”?

Demi Lovato Breaks Her Leg in Home Accident

Posted: 04 Feb 2013 12:03 PM PST

When fans told The X Factor judge Demi Lovato to “break a leg,” they didn’t mean it literally.

But that was exactly the case for the 20-year-old when she recently slipped and fell on hardwood floor, injuring her right leg. The “Skyscraper” singer tweeted a photo of her cast sitting beside a pair of crutches on Friday, writing, “This sucks.”

Despite the setback, Lovato was still in a chipper mood as she cracked jokes about the accident.

“Needless to say, today was eventful. Hahahaha,” she wrote in a tweet last weekend alongside a snapshot of her new companions, a set of crutches.

“Never, ever, ever, EVER let your roommate clean your hardwood floors with Pledge,” she continued.

Not one to let her injury bring her down, Lovato also tweeted a photo of late actress Marilyn Monroerocking a bikini in a cast as for inspiration, writing:

The former Disney starlet has always been outspoken about her body image, but has since found confidence in herself by focusing on staying healthy after her stint in rehab for self-harm in 2010.

“I’m now taking better care of myself. I don’t let my schedule determine who I am,” she said in an interview with OK! Magazine UK.

“I don’t fly around the world constantly. I don’t work 24/7. You need to be careful of who you hang out with, people you listen to.”

Beyonce once again proved she’s one of the best entertainers in the world on Sunday when she rocked the Super Bowl with an epic halftime show performance.

The show — which was so electrifying, some thought it caused a blackout — was filled with Knowles’ signature songs and dance moves — everything from “Single Ladies” to “Crazy in Love” and “Halo.”

It also featured a not-so-surprise appearance from Destiny’s Child (come on, we all knew it was happening), who joined Knowles on stage for a quick medley of their biggest hits.

After the show was over, Knowles — who on Sunday announced plans for her next world tour, beginning this April — shared some intimate moments on her Instagram account, including one adorable photo of Destiny’s Child jumping in front of the camera.

Why Miranda Kerr Is One of The Most Powerful Women in Hollywood (VIDEO)

Posted: 04 Feb 2013 06:34 AM PST

Miranda Kerr might not be an actress, but she rakes in more money and endorsement deals than most. Coupled with an A-list husband — actor Orlando Bloom, 36 — the 29-year-old Victoria’s Secret model and mother of one makes Celebuzz’s Hollywood Power Index at number 30.

Based on her earnings from May 2011 to May 2012, Kerr was ranked as one of the world’s highest-paid models by Forbes magazine.

With a net worth of $11.4 million, the model’s bank account only continues to grow thanks to new collaborations and endorsement deals. In 2012 alone, Kerr penned a deal with Reebok to appear in its EasyTone campaign, was snagged by Japanese fashion company Samantha Thavasa to promote its line of handbags and launched KORA, her own line of organic skincare, body & haircare products.

Taking over from her predecessor Kate Moss, Kerr was recently announced as the new face of MANGO, a clothing line that’s known for choosing famous faces like Scarlett Johansson, Penélope Cruz and Milla Jovovich for its advertising campaigns.

Rounding out a stellar year, the model was awarded the coveted title of 2012′s ‘Sexiest Woman of the Year’ by Esquire UK and posed nearly nude for the December photo shoot.

"We always have so much fun when we shoot," she said in the magazine interview. "My temperament's flirtatious, so it's second nature to me.

When it comes to supermodels, the Australian beauty is a fan-favorite as well. A recent British survey revealed Kerr as the celeb who UK women would most like to see a fashion line from. According to the nearly 2,000 women polled by popular site MyVoucherCodes, the supermodel landed in first place, beating out the likes of Lady Gaga, Kate Middleton, Katy Perry and Jennifer Aniston.

Kate Mara Talks ‘House of Cards’ and Her Love of Netflix

Posted: 03 Feb 2013 02:19 PM PST

When Kate Mara needed some advice while shooting the Netflix series House of Cards, she didnʼt have to look far.

She simply called little sister, Rooney Mara, who’s worked with House of Cards executive producer David Fincher on two films, The Social Network and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

"It was challenging [to shoot]," the elder Mara said at the show’s premiere party in New York earlier this week. "Because it was a new experience . . . so if I ever felt crappy about what I was doing or I felt like I wasn’t performing well I would call her and talk to her about it. Sheʼd always make me feel better."

The series, which takes place in Washington, follows majority whip Francis Underwood (Kevin Spacey) who will stop at nothing in his quest to become president. Robin Wright plays his equally venal and conniving wife.

Mara, who turns 30 this month, plays political reporter Zoe Barnes.

"I wouldnʼt be a good writer," she said. "I think too much about what Iʼm writing, it would take me forever and I donʼt follow politics at all!"

One thing the actress does like is Netflix.

"Iʼm obsessed!" she said. "I love it and I think itʼs genius how they make recommendations for you but sometimes it makes me laugh because they put movies on there that I donʼt like and I think, why would you think I would like this movie?ʼ

So has Netflix ever recommend anything starring herself?

"No! That would be kind of fun if they did!"

Queen B Gets Hollywood Buzzing (VIDEO)

Posted: 04 Feb 2013 12:21 PM PST

She may not have walked away with a ring, but Beyoncé won the Super Bowl.

From her barely there black-leather getup and hip-sway sashaying, to her show-stopping pyrotechnics and surprise reunion with Destiny’s Child, Queen B stole the spotlight with her halftime performance during the Super Bowl XLVII at New Orlean’s Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Not only did she earn cheers and applause from the 72,000-strong arena crowd, but Bey left Twitter abuzz. Of the 24.1 million Super Bowl-related tweets flying through the Twitterverse during the football finals, 5.5 million were sent during Beyoncé’s electrifying show.

All the Bey-loving Twitter talk helped set a record: By the beginning of the second half, the volume of tweets had already gone over 13 million total from last year’s Super Bowl.

And the tongue-wagging wasn’t just coming from the Beyhive fans; Hollywood, too, was weighing in on the Beyoncé Bowl, with many stars sharing kudos for the Queen in just 140 characters.

The Celebrity Super Bowl Ads That Scored Best (VIDEO)

Posted: 04 Feb 2013 11:57 AM PST

For many of us, the main event of the Super Bowl isn’t  the game itself, but what comes between the plays — the halftime show (Beyonce and her Destiny’s Child buddies brought it), and of course the big-budget commercials.

While there were no crazy Brad Pitt-level shockers, Amy Poehler, Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd added some fun, and Willem Defoe as the devil was seductively scary. Oh, and a PJ’ed-out Rock definitely made us thirsty — anyone got any milk?

Read on for six of our favorite star-studded spots:

Paul Rudd and Seth Rogan, Samsung  Mobile, “The Next Big Thing”
In a play that reminds us of the infamous, “You know how I know you’re gay” scene from The 40-Year-Old Virgin, the two funnymen duke it out over who Samsung really wanted to be “The Next Big Thing.” Our favorite dig from Paul: “You make people physically uncomfortable.”

Amy Poehler, Best Buy, “Asking Amy”
Amy wants answers. And she’s got lots of questions for the Best Buy employee who she speedily grills with important questions like, “What’s LTE, is it contagious?”  and “Are we in the Cloud?” And we’re with her –  we may not need an e-Reader to read Fifty Shades of Grey to us in a sexy voice, but Amy can read it to us any day.

Willem Dafoe, Usher, Kate Upton, Mercedes-Benz, “Soul”
Who better to play Satan than Willem Dafoe? Sorry Willem, but it’s true. Mercedes-Benz doesn’t skimp on anything in this big-budget commercial that also features cameos from a dancing Usher and sexy Kate Upton. After watching this ad a few more times, we just might be willing to sell our soul for a Mercedes — or because Willem told us to.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Got Milk? “Morning Run”
Not everyone loves milk, but The Rock may have sold a whole bunch of it with this action-packed ad — if only because it’s fun to see him running around in his jammy pants.

Psy, Wonderful Pistachios “Get Crackin’”
In the song that just won’t die, Psy does his famous dance, while singing about cracking pistachios. We hate to admit it, but we really don’t hate this song or this ad. Is that nuts?

Kaley Cuoco, Toyota Rav4, “Wish Granted”
Cuoco is perfectly silly as a wish-granting genie. Looking like Elle Woods in Legally Blonde with her little purple-clad Chihuahua, she proves that not all wishes should come true.

What were your favorite ads of the night? What did we miss? Kick it to us in the comments below.

Watch: Vanilla Ice Admits He’s a Directioner

Posted: 03 Feb 2013 04:42 PM PST

Vanilla Ice

Vanilla Ice got his start in the sometimes-hardcore ’90s hip-hop scene. But since his rise to stardom, the “Ice Ice Baby” rapper — real name Rob Van Winkle — has come to relish other genres.

“I like all kinds of music. I'm not some kind of hip hop dude that is just so bitter at everything,” Winkle told Celebuzz. “I'm open to all kinds of music. I'm simplified now. I used to dissect it and…take it too serious and too deep. Then I learned that a great song is just simply a great song. I don't care how great your lyrics are…I don't care about who, what or anything else. It's either a great song or it's not.”

That means you might even find Winkle rocking out to a record by British boy band, One Direction. “Love 'em. Heck yeah. No shame in my game,” said the self-proclaimed 1D fan. “The boy bands are back, man, with a vengeance. And they owe it to One Direction. Because it was dead in the water until One Direction came back. And then they were like, well what about 98 Degrees? Or what about N' Sync? Or what about Backstreet Boys?”

Now many of those groups are making a comeback. Not only has Backstreet returned to the recording studio, but 98 Degrees is teaming up with New Kids on the Block and Boyz II Menfor the summer Package Tour, a project that Winkle applauds. “Love it. I think it's awesome,” he enthused when Celebuzz told him about the throwback tour. “I think it's great. I think they should do it.”

But Winkle isn’t inclined to follow those boy bands’ lead. “I don't really do throwback tours because I sell out stadiums the way I am right now,” he said, explaining that his “Ninja Rap” from 1991′s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze flick is a hit amongst his fans, closing in on the popularity of his chart-topping hit, “Ice Ice Baby.”

“When I go play concerts, I got people dressed up as Ninja Turtles and they jump on stage,” he said. “Because it's that generation now, that age group is running the entire world. They grew up to that stuff [and] the Ninja Turtles are bigger than ever right now. So it's amazing that I get out there and just marinate with all my fans. I'd rather get in the crowd with my fans instead of my fans mixed with all these other groups' fans. I'd rather cater to my people. It's more personal that way for me.”

While some may write him off as a one-hit wonder, Winkle is still making music till this day — and with success. “My records are selling. I have a number one record in the U.K,” he said of his sixth studio album, W.T.F. (Wisdom, Tenacity And Focus), which was released digitally in 2011. “It’s still hip hop, but it's like techno house music.” And he still profits from his old-school hits after he “bought back all my publishing from back in the day,” which he explained was a “smart investment [because] the royalty checks come to me instead of someone else.”

But now that he’s shifted focus to The Vanilla Ice Project, his home-improvement series on the DIY Channel, would Winkle ever leave music in the dust? “No way,” he proclaimed. “I love it and I'm never leaving it behind. I never planned any of this. I never planned [making music], I never planned finding another passion in renovating homes.”

“I stumbled up on these things and it's just amazing…how the roller coaster goes,” he continued. “But [Music] is what led to everything I do and, to me, it's very personal. It’s a musical adventure. It's my diary, so I couldn't leave it behind. I’d be empty.”

Tune in to The Vanilla Ice Project on Sundays at 10 PM ET/9C on the DIY Channel.
