‘RHOC’: Weddings, Rivalries And A New Girl Posted: 04 Apr 2013 01:14 PM PDT Since it first hit the small screen back in 2006, The Real Housewives franchise has spawned six successful series (read: D.C. didn’t cut it) all across the nation. But Bravo’s spotlight on all that lavish living, girl fights and gossip started with one original: The Real Housewives of Orange County. Now as the show dives into the drama of its eighth season, there is a single survivor who has been there since the beginning: Vicki Gunvalson. "It feels great,” she told Celebuzz at the Bravo upfront event in New York City on Thursday. “If we weren't successful season one and two, we wouldn't be here." After many have come and gone from the O.C. mania, Gunvalson now stars alongside five other diamond-dripped Housewives: Tamra Barney, Gretchen Rossi, Alexis Bellino, Heather Dubrow and Lydia McLaughlin, the newest woman to hop aboard the Bravo bandwagon. Though the new season has only just premiered, the women are already waging war, so to speak. Not only are Gunvalson and Barney still at odds, but Dubrow stuck it her nemesis Bellino by making her the sole persona non grata at her posh clambake, a snub Bellino isn’t taking lying down. "Well, I sold her to another country," Bellino joked, as Dubrow was absent at the Upfront because she's vacationing in Mexico with her children. "So she's gone." But the season promises more than just bad blood between the women — wedding planning is underway for Barney, who is engaged to fiancé Eddie Judge. Though she stayed lips-sealed on what role, if any, her costars will play in her big day, there are four people who Barney promises will have a hand in the ceremony: her four children, eldest son Ryan Vieth, 24, from her first marriage, and her three younger kids, Sidney, Spencer and Sophia, from her second husband, Simon Barney. And might wedding bells soon ring for another one of the O.C. women? Rumors have been swirling that Rossi is ready to say "I do" to beau Slade Smiley after she was spotted sporting blinding bling on her ring finger. But turns out, the sparkler is not a gift from Smiley. "You know what? This is my ring from Jeff," Rossi explained, referring to her late fiancé Jeff Beitzel. "I will always wear this. It's a very sentimental piece to me. I'm never going to stop wearing it." But Rossi didn't deny that an engagement could be on her horizon. "There might be," she teased. "So you have to watch to see what happens." For more from the biggest Bravo-lebrities — from The Vanderpump Rules cast to the confirmed returning stars of RHONY — watch the videos below. |
Roger Ebert, Legendary Film Critic, Dead At 70 Posted: 04 Apr 2013 01:20 PM PDT Roger Ebert, the Pulitzer Prize-winning film critic who co-hosted TV’s Siskel and Ebert and its many iterations, died Thursday in Chicago after a lengthy battle with cancers of the thyroid and salivary gland. He was 70. “There is a hole that can’t be filled. One of the greats has left us,” The Chicago Sun-Times, the publication at which he joined in 1967, tweeted Thursday afternoon. At a time when movie criticism appeared to be waning, Ebert remained a fighting presence, one that had endured numerous changes in the industry and, later, multiple health scares. After joining the Chicago Sun-Times in 1967, the Chicago-born Ebert would quickly go on to win a Pulitzer Prize for Criticism, the first film critic to do so. But it was his professional, sometimes testy, relationship with Chicago Tribune film critic Gene Siskel that would eventually make Ebert a household name.
The duo began co-hosting a weekly film review TV show titled Sneak Previews in 1975, which would eventually become the now-famous Siskel & Ebert, through Buena Vista Television, in 1986. It was through that program that the duo became synonymous with their “Two Thumbs Up” review approach. Ebert remained with the program after Siskel died in 1999, before finally parting ways with Disney in 2008. Off camera, Ebert was known for his poignant, thoughtful film reviews, all of which were guided by a voice that was as dead-on and funny as it was sharp and biting. (Read all of Ebert’s reviews on his website.) News of Ebert’s death came only a day after he announced he would be taking a “leave of presence” from his post. “The 'painful fracture' that made it difficult for me to walk has recently been revealed to be a cancer," Ebert wrote. "It is being treated with radiation, which has made it impossible for me to attend as many movies as I used to.” Ebert’s health woes date back to 2002. Complications from a 2006 surgery led to the loss of his jaw, as well as his ability to eat, drink and speak. He is survived by his wife, Chaz, whom he married in 1992. His favorite movie was Citizen Kane. |

Jada Addresses Open Marriage Rumors Posted: 04 Apr 2013 11:40 AM PDT Interesting, very interesting… Jada Pinkett Smith cryptically addressed longtime speculation that she and her husband of 16 years Will Smith are in an open marriage. The 41-year-old mother of Willow and Jaden told HuffPost Live: “No, I think that people get that idea because Will and I are very relaxed with one another.” But that’s not all she revealed… “I’ve always told Will, ‘you can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be okay,’” she said. While Mrs. Smith didn’t go into specifics about exactly how relaxed things are in their relationship, she did proudly gush about her hubby. “At the end of the day, Will is his own man. I’m here as his partner, but he is his own man.” she explained. “He has to decide who he wants to be and that’s not for me to do for him.” What do you think about Pinkett Smith’s comments on her marriage? Weigh in below. |
Watch: Chelsea Handler And Conan O’Brien’s Nude Brawl Posted: 04 Apr 2013 11:58 AM PDT It’s a battle of the birthday suits. E! late night talk show host Chelsea Handler went toe-to-toe with TBS’ Conan O’Brien in a hilarious shower skit that debuted online Wednesday night. The segment started off with Handler baring it all — well, whatever that wasn’t blurred out by TV execs — at Chelsea Lately‘s communal bathroom. Just before soaping up for her hot shower, she was interrupted by a buck naked O’Brien, who wanted to address the fact that the comedienne had stolen his studio. “Oh no, not again. How do people keep getting in here?” Handler shrieked, referring to last October’s shower run-in with Sandra Bullock.
The two late night stars then continued to bicker — fighting about everything from parking spaces to how Handler had mistaken O’Brien’s back massager for, um, something else — before throwing down the slaps. Watch the video above to see how this argument ended! Can’t get enough of these two? Peep the bloopers reel:

Chris Pine: ‘Star Trek’ Terrified Me Posted: 04 Apr 2013 09:27 AM PDT When J.J. Abrams was casting for his 2009 reboot of the Star Trek franchise, Chris Pine was probably the last person who wanted to have anything to do with it. "I wasn't a fan of Star Trek," Pine, 32, tells the latest issue of Esquire UK. "It didn't excite me." "All I wanted at that time was a part that I really connected to and when my agent said, 'Star Trek,' I said, 'No! Have you not been haring anything I've said? Star Trek is the furthest thing from what I want to do.'"
When he landed the role and into the giant footsteps left by William Shatner, Pine switched from dislike to nerves. "Star Trek scared me a lot. It terrified me, really. Because of the scale, the responsibility, the fact that it was this iconic character. It was the bigger challenge. So I had to take it." Fast forward to four years later: Pine, Abrams and company are gearing up for the release of Star Trek Into Darkness, a picture that is expected to make big bucks at the box office when it opens in May. The sequel also has a new villain, played by Benedict Cumberbatch (of Sherlock Holmes fame). And on a recent film tour with his co-star, Pine discovered that he's become somewhat of an afterthought — overseas, anyway. "When I went to Japan for Star Trek, the fans were at the airport waiting. But they didn't scream until Benedict got off the plane. And I was like, "f*** man, what about me?'" The May 2013 issue of Esquire UK, featuring Chris Pine on the cover, hits newsstands this week. Star Trek Into Darkness opens in theaters May 17. |
Beyonce and Jay-Z’s Summer Home Is On The Market Posted: 04 Apr 2013 09:46 AM PDT Want to live like the reigning king and queen of hip hop? Well, now you can. Beyonce and Jay-Z’s Hamptons summer rental home last summer is officially on the market for a cool $43 million. The couple originally rented out the mega mansion in 2012 for an astounding $400,000-a-month. The home, known as Sandcastle, sits on a massive 11 acres and features a two-lane bowling alley, rock-climbing wall, and even its own recording studio. The main house is over 31,000-square-feet and overlooks the 60-foot heated pool that comes complete with an underwater stereo system. Bey and Jay called the palatial estate home for the summer months last year and undoubtedly enjoyed the many amenities the home had to offer. On April 4, the couple’s five year anniversary, Queen B released a preview of her newest track “Grown Woman”during her first Pepsi commercial. The singer signed an unprecedented partnership deal with the brand for $50 million dollars in late 2012. Click on the photo gallery above to check out the home Beyonce and Jay-Z once called home. |
Expect To See H&M’s Exclusive Conscious Collection All Over The Red Carpet Posted: 04 Apr 2013 10:02 AM PDT H&M’s new Exclusive Conscious collection launches today, and the eco evening-wear line already has a big celeb following. The eco evening-wear line features red carpet-worthy dresses, pantsuits and accessories that have already been seen on the likes of Chloe Grace Moretz, Emmy Rossum, Ashley Olsen and Sophia Bush. And to celebrate the line’s official launch today, Ashley Benson, Victoria Justice, Jessica Lowndes and Jessica Stroup will all be hosting parties at H&M locations in New York, West Hollywood, San Francisco and Miami. But that’s not the only reason to hit up your nearest H&M store — the night-out looks are so chic, it’s hard to believe that they’re green. So you can make everyone green with envy, and still feel good about what you’re wearing.
The entire collection is made with sustainable materials such as organic cotton, silk tencel, recycled polyester and tulle. But forget any notions you have of eco fashion. The after-five styles for men and women, ranging from stylish cocktail dresses and sleek pantsuits to frothy ball gowns, as well as well-tailored suits and shirts for the gents, could easily be mistaken for Lanvin or Celine on the red carpet. Don’t believe me? Recall how Helen Hunt surprised everyone when she revealed the navy gown she wore to the Golden Globes was in fact H&M, not Elie Saab or Vera Wang. Personally, I’m lusting after this crisp pantsuit, this sexy cocktail number, and this blue dress for my next wedding. How about you — which items are you excited to scoop up? Check out more spring style below. |
Second ‘Great Gatsby’ Trailer Teases Songs By Beyonce, Florence + The Machine Posted: 04 Apr 2013 08:59 AM PDT Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan tease a little more drama in the latest trailer for Baz Luhrmann’s ‘The Great Gatsby,’ released Thursday by Warner Bros. But it’s the soundtrack that winds up being the real star of the three-minute clip, thanks to new music from Lana Del Ray, Florence + The Machine, Beyonce Knowles and Andre 3000. As reported Tuesday, Knowles — who also teased a new song (or a Pepsi commercial, anyway, ugh) on Thursday — and Andre 3000 are covering the late Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” for the movie, out May 10. “It’s a very different take on ‘Back to Black,’” a record industry insider told E! News at the time.

Posted: 04 Apr 2013 10:42 AM PDT HBO’s Girls will have a little less testosterone next season . Sources confirmed to Page Six Thursday that Christopher Abbott, the doe-eyed actor who plays Marnie’s (Allison Williams) boyfriend, Charlie, has abruptly quit the show after finding himself at odds with its creator, Lena Dunham. “He didn't like the direction things are going in, which seems a bit odd since the show put him on the map,” the source said. Added Abbott’s rep: “[Chris] is grateful for the experience of collaborating with Lena, Judd [Apatow], and the entire 'Girls' cast and crew, but right now he's working on numerous other projects and has decided not to return to the show.”
Abbott’s departure certainly has fans wondering how the show will pick up from its second season finale, in which Charlie finally reunited with Marine, in admittedly schmaltzy fashion. No word yet on how his exit will be handled. (Though, let’s hope it isn’t as dark as anything that happened last season. Ugh.) Will you miss Abbott on Girls? Or is it time for Marnie to date someone new? Sound off, below. |

Kim K. Busts Out In A Maxi Dress Posted: 04 Apr 2013 10:42 AM PDT Kim Kardashian is switching up her maternity style. After fielding criticism for her curve-hugging fashions and sky-high heels, the expectant E! star stepped out in a flowing, floor-grazing maxi dress and flat sandals on Wednesday. While grabbing some frozen yogurt in Sherman Oaks, Calif., with a few pals, Kardashian, 32, gave her growing baby bump a bit of breathing room in a loose-fitting, cream-colored frock. But while the look left her belly under wraps, it drew all attention to the mom-to-be’s ample cleavage. As she snacked on a cupful of fruit-covered swirly sweets, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star — who is expecting her first child with beau Kanye West — chatted with BFF Jonathan Cheban. Kardashian’s maternity style shift comes on the heels of her defending herself again what has seemed like a constant cycle of headline-hitting judgements on her pregnancy. “I think it's a little bullyish to call a pregnant woman fat. I mean, what do you expect? I hope I gain weight,” she said last week on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. “But I think it's kind of mean, all the comments I see. Whether it's, 'She's wearing heels,' [but] that makes me feel good and sexy. And if I feel good, my baby will feel good. You can't win, you just can't win.” While some tabloid covers have claimed she’s now tipping the scale at over 200 lbs., the pregnant star say that estimate is far exaggerated. “I think after that In-N-Out last night and my New York trip, I think it's 25 pounds,” she admitted. “I've always been curvy. I've always embraced my curves, and I love them. And now there's just more to love right now.” Do you prefer this look to Kardashian’s more form-fitting fashions? Share your thoughts in the comments section. |
NSFW: Gosling Wants To Fight In ‘Only God Forgives’ Posted: 04 Apr 2013 08:54 AM PDT Ryan Gosling only says two words in the trailer, but that's more than enough to keep fans wondering exactly what will go down in Only God Forgives. On Wednesday, Radius TWC unleashed a brand new red band trailer for the second collaboration between Gosling and his Drive director Nicholas Winding Refn. The 32-year-old Canadian actor plays an exile named Julian who lives and works in the underground world of Bangkok, Thailand. Things get interesting when his mother (played by Kristin Scott Thomas) asks him to avenge his brother's killer.
The film, which also stars Thai movie star Vithaya Pansringarm, is scheduled to play during the Cannes Film Festival in May, according to Variety. No U.S. release date has been announced. Gosling's 2011 film with Refn, Drive, screened at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival and would go on to receive major nominations during that awards season. |
Why Gaga Believes In Yoga’s Higher Healing Power (EXCLUSIVE) Posted: 04 Apr 2013 08:47 AM PDT The Mother Monster has risen. No, we're not talking about Lady Gaga's meteoric rise to fame, but she's finally back on her feet after hip surgery – and she has yoga to thank for it. The songstress was spotted out of her wheelchair and ditching those exaggerated platforms for more post-surgery appropriate kitten heels to take a class at Tricia Donegan's NYC Bikram yoga studio, Celebuzz confirmed, where she's been finding her chi – and now regaining her strength. Gaga has admitted that with Donegan's help, she has healed her body, ever since her pre-fame college years.
“Many clients come in with physical injuries and mentally empowered. And once you start practicing, the whole system is empowered,” Donegan told Celebuzz. Bikram, she says, is based on Hatha Yoga or hot yoga – which is often used to reduce stress and regain strength to overcome health challenges. "It compresses certain organs, you hold it and let go. It flushes all the blood and oxygen and nutrients,” she added. "Certain postures are used for certain parts of the body and benefits, and you string them together and it connects your brain to do something with your body. "I'm a huge believer that with your brain and body connected, that's a huge part of healing,” Donegan said. Although Donegan wouldn’t comment on the pop star’s recovery, Gaga has done her body good with yoga for years. “Gaga said to me, ‘To jog your memory, I confided in you and cried in your lap about a food problem I was having,’” Donegan told DNAinfo in 2010. “She told me I had talked to her about the proper hydration and proper nutrition necessary to having enough energy and strength.” But the 26-year-old singer, who has been open about suffering from bulimia and anorexia since she was 15, confessed to owing more than just her healthy lifestyle to the yoga guru. “She said she no longer has a food problem and that I saved her life,” Donegan told the publication. Today, Gaga has launched her new movement, "A Body Revolution 2013," to encourage body image acceptance. And for her, there's no place like yoga to help her mind and body. "I’m excited to embark on an even deeper journey," she wrote to Donegan in a note she penned in 2010. "You are such an inspiration… W more hydration + sleep. Yoga heals me + so do you." Take a look at Gaga in fine yoga form back in 2010 alongside Donegan in the photos above. How do you think Gaga is on a path to recovery using yoga? Let us know your thoughts below. |
Queen B Is Back As A ‘Grown Woman’ Posted: 04 Apr 2013 10:41 AM PDT The wait is over. Almost two years after dropping her last album, 4, Queen B has granted the world brand-new music. Beyoncé has debuted a portion of “Grown Woman,” the first track off her highly-anticipated, as-of-yet-untitled fifth studio album, in the first commercial from her previously announced partnership with Pepsi. In the spot entitled “Mirrors,” Beyoncé faces off against her some of her most famed personalities of days gone past — from “Bootylicious” Beyoncé, to “Sasha Fierce,” to “Crazy in Love” — in a dance-off. The creative collaboration opens with Beyoncé, donning cropped leather shorts and a see-through top, dancing solo in an empty mirrored studio. She takes a breather, cracks open a can of Pepsi, and sips down the soda. As she stares into a mirror, Beyoncé sees her “Bootylicious” self appear in place of her reflection. Soon, the Grammy-winning singer is surrounded by her previous personas. Together they bring back to life some of Beyoncé’s most buzzed-about dance moves, from her hand-flipping “Single Ladies” swerve, to her hip-shaking “Bootylicious” sway, to her “Crazy In Love” strut, to form a fresh routine. Then, just as the song hits its crescendo, the mirrors shatter — symbolizing Beyoncé breaking free from her former selves. By showcasing how her past has helped her become the “Grown Woman” she is now, the spot embodies Pepsi’s new "Live for Now" brand spirit. "I had so much fun collaborating on this campaign with Pepsi. I got to re-live some of my favorite past characters and looks. It was the first time I saw those costumes in years and it was very emotional," the singer explained in an announcement on her website. "I'm proud of those moments and they all connect in some way and have helped me evolve into who I am today." Watch the new commercial (above) then weigh in on her Beyoncé’s first new music in almost two years in the comments below. |
It’s A Bird, It’s A Plane… No, It’s Honey Boo Boo! Posted: 03 Apr 2013 10:03 PM PDT First she helped the Girl Scouts, now Honey Boo Boo is turning her attention on the bullies of America. Everyone’s favorite pint-size, fouled mouthed, aspiring beauty queen (aka Alana Thompson) has been chosen by the anti-bullying clothing charity The Brand UR as its person of the year. Is there nothing Honey Boo Boo can’t do?
And the new title comes complete with the pomp and circumstance (and plenty of rhinestones, of course!) any aspiring beauty queen would love. Only this costume comes with a cape… not ruffles. "Both Alana and her mom June Shannon are very excited about it — her little superhero costume is being designed right now. It will have a lot of rhinestones and will be very colorful," a family source told Celebuzz. Yes, you heard it right. The 4-foot-tall ball of energy is the next anti-bullying Caped Crusader. The breakout star of TLC’s Here Comes Honey Boo Boo plans to visit schools close to her home in McIntyre, Georgia, to show bullies that ”You’d better redneckognize!!” TV’s most outspoken and outrageous family — who’ve coined even more outrageous catchphrases — has already dedicated their popular Facebook page to promoting the brand’s cause founded by friend Jodi LaFountain. The concerned mom created The Brand UR after she discovered that her 6-year-old daughter Addison LaFountain was being bullied at school. And while charity, using "UR PopUlaR"as the slogan, has taken off — now it’s Honey Boo Boo Child to the rescue! "They want her to help bring as much publicity to the problem as possible," the insider added. "They have taken her sizes and everything, and they know that no bully will be safe when Honey Boo Boo rolls up to their school." Tell us what you think — Will Honey Boo Boo's new superhero character help beat bullying? Leave your comments below.
